Brokentips Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Hi everyone very nice forum here. I have a couple of broken rod tips and not sure what the best option to buy. I see a lot of cheap kits on Amazon and bass pro shops. Are they the best you can buy or just easy replacements? Last time I replaced tips I bought them from my local rod tackle shop repair guy, but they are no longer in business. The rods are Fenwick aetos 6'5" or so spinning rod, and Loomis e6x 7'5"-7'4" casting rod. Braid for both. Neither are micro guides. Thanks. I am sorry I have posted this in the wrong section. 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted August 5, 2021 Super User Posted August 5, 2021 You might call the companies and buy directly from them. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted August 5, 2021 Super User Posted August 5, 2021 Your best bet is to find someone local that works on rods. You have about 9 different tube sizes to fit the blank and 7 different ring sizes to match the guides on lighter duty rods. Quote

Berkley and Fenwick are part of the Purefishing corporate concern. Talk to Kathy if you can (and if she's still there!). They usually have good customer service. jj Quote
frogflogger Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 If you are looking for a sensitivity upgrade get a recoil tip guide. Expensive ($12.-$13) but are used by many pros for dropshotting and other techniques where sensitvity is needed. Particularly on spinning rods. Mudhole has them Quote
