KeeperJimmy Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 Can someone recommend a suitable rattle to place inside the cavity of a lead casted jig head prior to pouring? These will be used inside larger jigs 2-6 ounce Ultra Minnow mold. I was using small metal rattles from Barlow's but they stopped carrying them. Thank you. Quote
cadman Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 It will probably have to be metal, as plastic rattles will probably deform from the heat and cause them not to rattle. I don't know of anyone selling metal rattles. However you can try Lakeland or Hagen's. Quote
KeeperJimmy Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 Thank you. I will check out those shops. Quote
KeeperJimmy Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 Neither shop had them. However, I did see a post on another forum on how to make your own rattle using a .22 cartridge filled with bb's or shotgun pellets. I will save some next time I go to the range and give this a shot. Quote
HaydenS Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Might want to try glass rattles, if they aren't exposed and won't be in danger of breaking? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=30&searchtext=glass+rattle Quote
Guitarfish Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I always used the rubber encased rattles with a ring openiong that you add to the hook. Sorry I can't remember who made them. Quote
