ImaRapalabeliever Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I have a 14' Jon boat, it has a 3 bench seats that are as wide as the boat, the bench in the middle has two lids that open away from each other it's not very deep maybe about 12 inches, and it has two plugs on either side I guess it was supposed to be a live well not sure. I have all my accessories in it life jackets, lights, buoy markers etc... but it's not water proof at all. I was hoping someone would have an idea of how I could possibly make it water tight or at least close to water tight, I have looked everywhere for a plastic storage unit that will fit down in it but can't seem to find one any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 29, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 29, 2010 I had the same problem when I had an aluminum boat - no dry storage. I learned the hard way about that little "feature". I solved it by buying the waterproof duffle bags BPS sells. I placed them in them in the storage compartments and put everything in those. Worked like a charm. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10205325____SearchResults Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted January 29, 2010 Super User Posted January 29, 2010 You probably could make that storage area water proof. If you throw enough money at something you can generally get what you want. I'd do what Glenn said to do and get some waterproof bags or boxes. I've fished out of several jon boats and keeping stuff dry was frequently an issue. Not to be a smartass but, they make these things called zip lock bags. They come in various sizes and work real well for dry storage as long as you don't poke a hole in them. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Quote
