Super User DitchPanda Posted July 27, 2021 Super User Posted July 27, 2021 Found one of these last year at my local lake. Its actually a large popper..not a typical spook. Is this bait worth fishing or should I hold onto it as a collectors item? Looking for info...is it a good bait?...when did they stop making them? Quote
desmobob Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 They still make something like that... Heddon Chug'n Spook 1 Quote

Super User Mobasser Posted July 28, 2021 Super User Posted July 28, 2021 I have one I've had for probably 30 yrs. Mine is black shore minnow color. I think they stopped making these in the early 1990s. I don't remember seeing them. As I much after that. I actually still fished mine a little last year, but havnt thrown it this year. I'm not sure on any collectible value. You could see what they go for on E Bay. Cool old plug for sure. Quote

Super User Mobasser Posted July 28, 2021 Super User Posted July 28, 2021 It has a large cupped face. Like a Hula Popper, it delivers a good BLOOP, when you work it as a popper. You can also chug it with shorter rod movements. Ditch Panda, you could sharpen or replace the hooks and still fish it. It will still catch bass Quote

After looking most of the ones selling used without a box in the shape mines in are going for $10-25 depending on color from what I've seen. Looks like I'm gonna fish it. 1 Quote

I think mine is the same color as yours . I have quite a few 1960's era lures , one of these days I'll find a buyer . Quote
Super User scaleface Posted July 28, 2021 Super User Posted July 28, 2021 I found mine . It had a rubber skirt on the rear hook . I dont know if it was made like that or it was added . Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted July 28, 2021 Author Super User Posted July 28, 2021 I don't think mines that old. Doesn't have any yellowing of the plastic. Is more beat up with a little more paint wore off. 1 Quote
