I was flipping through the channels last night and happened to catch the last few minutes of the women's Olympic marathon.   Two Kenyan women took the gold and silver.  The bronze medal went to 5' 4"  107 pound Molly Seidel.  When I saw her wrap herself in the flag it made me proud to be an American.

Well the Olympics has concluded.  I watched the summer Olympics since 1964 and this has been one of the most memorable.  It has been the most diverse to date.  I’m one of those weirdos that loves track and field for reason.  I don’t care what country wins what or how many medals.  The athletes are the focus regardless of nationality.  The spirit of the Olympics was evident this year.  How refreshing.

US viewership was down almost 50%. I think that might be a better gauge.

Today is a good day. The USA won the most gold medals and the most medals in the Olympic Games. So many obstacles caused by the Pandemic, so many insulted our athletes, but in the end of the day none of that was enough to defeat our country. The USA earned 39 gold medals, 41 silver medals, 33 bronze medals for a total of 113 medals in The 2021 Olympic Games and this game will be in the history books.

I hope the Winter Olympics in February 2022 can have some fans.  Some of the bigger venues without fans create a much better atmosphere when there are fans in the stands.

On a positive  note, the US women have come a long way in a decade!

I believe it is from an active investment and the good parts of Title Nine ( equity in college sports).

......that said, it is not a complete endorsement of 9, just the observation that $,focus, harder work and opportunity can yield results.
