Welcome to BR. Be sure to visit the introductions forum and tell us a little about yourself.

You're likely to get some varied responses to this question as there are those here that fish retention ponds, natural lakes, rivers, and reservoirs. Add to that that some fish from shore, or yaks, or from boats and you can see why answers will be varied.

I like that you list your favorites from top to bottom presentations, it shows that you aren't afraid to try the different zones.

Fishing ponds, I prefer smaller baits like small cranks and blade baits for moving presentations. For soft plastics, you can't beat a plastic worm T-rigged. Don't forget a jig with a trailer, it's a killer wherever and however you fish.

A Chatterbait is sometimes also referred to as a bladed jig.

Boy that'd be about a full book to name them all, because my "favorite lure" depends heavily on the situation I am fishing, season, weather, water temperature, water clarity, vegetation, current, bottom composition, food sources, moon phase, all kinds of things affect what I am favoring on a given day, if I had to pick a "style" that if I could snap my fingers and always be able to catch fish on? Topwater baits of all sorts (buzzbait is probably my favorite of them all, or whopper plopper which is essentially a floating buzzbait), spinnerbaits, crankbaits (lipless, squarebill, deep divers, flat sides, love every crank) I mean, we can literally name a bait or a category and I have a time or condition it's a favorite, but the one box, no matter what happens in life, that I absolutely will not leave home without is my jig box, it has swim jigs, bladed jigs, finesse jigs, football heads, arkie style heads, you can fish them under literally any condition, time of year, whatever, you will never find yourself on the water fishing a jig and have anybody ever be able to say your "wrong" for fishing a jig unless it's a subjective preference thing..they catch numbers, and size.

Right now I'm catching them on crankbaits, jig and craw, and plastic worms.  Most of the bass have been in the flats in the spots where the vegetation is the thickest.

Shakey head jigs rigged weedless w/ 5" curly tail grubs.

5-6" stickbaits Texas rigged w/bare or weighted hooks.

Pit Boss or 6" creature bait Texas rigged almost always on weighted hook.

What ever color is on the menu that day. Good Fishing....

Dude, if you’re a pond guy, get yourself a gill colored swim jig,(I like 6th Sense) with an XZone swammer in the 309 color. Money. It’s my skunk repellent.

Agreed. It took 14 some years to get the spinnerbait monkey off of my backed. Granted, I write them off for most of that time but 14 years is 14 years. Finally broke through in 2018 and I’ve been consistently catching bass in them since. I’d recommend trying a double willow version. They have more productive out the gate vs the tandem willow and colorado. ?

I don’t know if I have an exclusive favorite lure or lure type. I love a lot if lure types such that it would be playing favorites, lol. However, t-rigs weighted and unweighted have been killing it for me this season, creatures, craws and senko types.
