Air temp was 93 today, but the humidity raised the heat index to 102

Tomorrow they're saying 97 with a 104 heat index.

This is NOT normal for Minnesota

Add to that - the areas of Extreme and Severe Drought are expanding in the state, while the Moderate and Abnormally Dry areas shrink.

Slight chance of rain here in the Metro - same for up in the NW part of the state that's in the Extreme Drought.

Painting roofs? Ours are either metal or asphalt.

All metal roofs, mostly barns and older homes with paint brush......that was 40 years ago. Lol

Metal roof painting in 90* heat?

The heat off the roof alone would probably dry the paint to the paint brush almost instantly...LOL

Nope, sorry. I put myself through college doing asphalt roofs in the summer...yep...good times. I used to lose at least 5 lbs just in loss fluids at the end of the day.

It has been the coolest summer here that I can remember. Today it was 93-94 , which is the hottest day this summer. The majority of days has only been in the 80s. We have been getting buckets of rain , after a bone dry spring. Having lightning as usual, but more in the middle of the night than usual. It’s been raining a lot in the mornings here too , which is also unusual.

Also had a tornado go by and just miss us. I hope and pray for no hurricanes this year… My roof already leaks, and I dont want the boat tarp I have up there to blow away!

It seems that Texas keeps stealing our summer weather.  Really not much rain today but at least there is some relief in the form of lower temperatures and humidity coming.
