papajoe222 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 A Canadian trip to someplace with a nice lodge, boats and guides. One week away from everything including cell phones and TV. Eat, sleep, fish, repeat. 6 Quote
Sphynx Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Oh man, in that case I have all kinds of trips on that list, Smallies and salmon/steelhead on the great lakes, any one of a number of legendary trophy bucketmouth factories, an Alaskan trip, Canada for smallies, Midwest Pike and Musky, Bend OR for one of the three trophy trout and salmon rivers that pass through/near it, gulf/Caribbean fly fishing trips for Redfish/Bonefish and I'm sure others I don't even know, a fly trip to the Catskills in upstate New York using only traditionally developed flies (dry preferred) Atlantic salmon, plenty of rivers in the UK for trout, the Scandinavian countries have some legendary pike opportunities, I mean, I guess my view is everywhere basically has an exceptional angling opportunity, give me more than 30 seconds I will probably Google it and be perfectly happy to avail myself of it, and I think about, plan, think/dream about, and research these things all the time. 2 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted July 23, 2021 Super User Posted July 23, 2021 I have no idea how much longer I’m meant to be on gods green earth. I’m going to retire a couple of years early and this coming early spring I’m pulling the plug. There are some guys on here that I’m going to reach out to and see if we can hook up. It tough while you are still working because it’s a haul to some of your areas dragging my puddle jumper and I have no desire to be pushed for time or if we hit bad weather situations. I’d like to catch some Smallies in the Upper Mississippi River, Pickwick Area, St Croix Area, St. Lawrence/Lk Ontario Area, And somewhere along the line I need a spotted bass. 2 Quote

SC53 Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 While I’ve caught a couple of smallmouth on Dale Hollow years ago, I’d love to fish with Ajay where he catches his big ones. Maybe we could work out a trip trade. Lake Baccarac where he fishes is definitely on my bucket list. Living here in Florida my entire life I’ve fished most of the well known lakes here. I’ve also fished both FL coasts and the keys out to 100 miles and caught about every species that swims. Still would like to fish some of the lakes in Texas and some of the northern lakes and rivers for smallies. 3 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted July 23, 2021 Super User Posted July 23, 2021 I would like to go back and fish the small creek where I caught my first fish. It will be a nice sunny day in the spring, just my dog for companionship, a cheap spinning rod, bobber, hook and a live night crawler for gear. Catch some dinner, not caring about what species, or size. Bait Monkey not allowed on this trip. 2 Quote

The stream in Nick's Woods that I'd pull brookies out of back when I was 8-11 years old...doubt it's still that good considering where it is. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted July 24, 2021 Super User Posted July 24, 2021 Id like to camp on a remote Northern lake and catch smallmouths. Im doubtful I’ll ever be able to though. Id like to do the same thing on the Suwannee river. ( Catching suwannee bass. )You’d think I would have by now but just never got around to it. Id also like to get an inshore boat and fish our intracoastal and St augustine area for reds, sheephead, flounder, black drum , etc. My son had a boat but had to sell it to pay his bills. Id also love to get back out to the Ocala Nat. forest and camp/ fish . But it’s hard with no truck at present… 1 Quote

I'll even allow gator hats once we get north of the border....... 1 3 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted July 25, 2021 Super User Posted July 25, 2021 Maybe fish El Salto. I don’t know if it’s possible to just go there and fish it without some kind of tourist arrangement so my research is cut out for me. Also, Mazatlsn is my wife’s hometown but when I’m there, I have no inkling even to freshwater fish. Talk about weird and being disconnected to bass fishing at a bass fishing haven. ?? Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted July 25, 2021 Super User Posted July 25, 2021 A boat. Focus would be on stealth for me. I do not need fancy. Fast enough to navigate a large lake, but otherwise something I could easily anchor out of and relatively small presence. 1 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted July 25, 2021 Super User Posted July 25, 2021 Tennessee is probably as far as I could go , time and money wise. I really like east Tennessee anyway, especially the smokies. Cades Cove is one of the most beautiful places Ive been. I fished for 4 hours once on the new river between there and Gatlinburg. 3 hours ago, TnRiver46 said: The north country isn’t too far from here, i believe parts of Canada can be reached in 8-9 hours. Jaderose Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 I watched a show a few years back about Bass Fishing in Cuba. These guys were taking boats up these little rivers deep into the jungle and catching both huge largemouth and peacock bass. It looked AMAZING. 1 Quote
Super User Darth-Baiter Posted July 27, 2021 Super User Posted July 27, 2021 My friend is moving to Minnesota so fishing for big smallmouth bass at Mille Lacs is a real possibility. I’m going! I will also kayak some of Florida to catch exotics. Peacocks mainly. and way out there? I will catch top water tuna at the Ascension Islands when I retire. go big or go home ( before I die) in general once I put my mind to it, it’s happening. I caught a giant in Peru. And it changed my life. I want more. 1 Quote
Dye99 Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Ive been a largemouth guy all my life. I moved to northern Idaho and I started smallie chasing and Im hooked. Love it... 2 Quote

volzfan59 Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I have three on my bucket list. 1. Smallie fishing in MN. Preferably with MN Fisher in his hot rod canoe! 2. Do one of those seven day "fly in, float out" trips in the boundary waters. I have a close friend that has done it twice. He said that he "caught so many smallies and walleye that he was sick of it by the end of the week." I replied, No way! 3. Go smallie fishing up in northern New York state. 1 Quote

None of the lakes I fish are smallie hot-spots - Tonka has them, but finding them is a pain. 2. Hope you got 'padding' as the front-seater will be on a 'cheap' strap-on stadium seat over hard wood. 1 Quote
