Seaguar will be bringing out a couple new lines next year for the budget conscious angler

BasiX FC might make the world of FC open up to more people at $10/200yd spool. https://seaguar.com/freshwater/new-lines/basix

TactX braid will be a 4-carrier that they claim will stay round to help prevent dig in - no price on that yet. https://seaguar.com/freshwater/new-lines/tactx

Red Label being cut out of the lineup?

I doubt it, they sell loads of it.  If this basic stuff is a replacement odds are its an improved version of Red Label.

Admittedly, I reserved a couple spools of Seaguar BasiX when the pre-sale became available.

Now that it's being marketed more aggressively as we approach the release in January, I enjoy reading the product descriptions.  Some have me thinking, if it's as good as they claim nobody will need to buy their premium lines.

Do I expect it to compete with Tatsu, or even Invizx?  No... But they sure make it sound like it will be a player.  What I do expect is good knot strength and manageability in the smaller diameter, lower # tests.

For me, the true test of the line will be manageability in the jump from 15-20# test.  It appears the Basic #15 will be .014 diameter, with no option for a 17# test, while the others come in at .013.

For $10 a spool I'll give it a fair shot.

Interested in the potential with these lines. The Basix could be a good option for techniques that people like fluoro for but still need to change line often from wear and tear (shallow cranking through rocks and timber).

Has anyone had the chance to give basix a thorough test yet? Would love to hear thoughts. I am about to spool up a new worm/jig combo so its between basix and invisx. I've had some griefs with red label recently.
