Flipping Rod

So I’m a big Dobyns fan but I’ve had a bunch a issues from guides breaking, coming loose and snapped rods and yes I do take pretty good care of my equipment. Today while flipping mats and bringing a fish in, my Dobyns Champion 736 C FH snapped. 
 

I am going to replace it but thinking about another brand. Any suggestion in the under $325 price range? 
 

I know I can replace the Dobyns under warranty for half price but weighting options.

I thought that rod had lifetime warranty ? Unless they can prove you abused it it should be free.

It does have a lifetime warranty but for me to prove that it was a manufactures defect will be pretty much futile. 
 

I mainly just wanted to know if anyone has any other suggestions on flipping and pitching rods.

It's most likely not a manufacturers defect to tell you the truth. Defective blanks show up very quickly and al.ost always break in the month or so of use. This is just a proven fact. My  point was that a lot of companies will replace things for free as long as there is no obvious abuse. Did you contact them ?

Not yet. It just happened yesterday AM. I plan on calling them tomorrow.

Priced under your $ 325.00 range is the Irod Air Series 775 C.  I have a few of their Genisis III rods, and love them. Life time warranty, Great customer service, and the rods are very light weight. Just read the reviews on Tackle Warehouse.

When flipping, the rod is nothing more than an extension pole and a lever to hoist the fish in the boat.   My best flipping rod is a Bass Pro Skops IMG Graphite Series rod.  It's a collapsible 7'6" rod.  It's light, sensitive and fits in my rod box.  I've had it for years and it still looks like new. I believe I paid $49.95 for it. 

 

I don't understand rods these days.  Went to Bass Pro Shop the other day and all I could find were double grip rods with the extension knobs on the bottom.   Am I the only one who thinks they look awkward?   I keep patching up my old rods.  Hopefully they will last me until I can't hold a rod anymore.  ?
