Hey guys, I normally fish strike king, googan or other brand spinnerbaits but I saw war eagle had a good following and I didn't have any half ounce baits so I ordered one. Is it just me or is the hook bend on this overly aggressive? Is this normal on WE baits? I dunno im just not entirely sold on their quality right now. Gold plating seems kinda chincey, skirt is so so... am I missing something?

That bait is damaged. Not only is the hook smashed in, the lead on the back of the bait is damaged and the hook point is rolled.

Not at all a reflection of the normal quality you get with War Eagle baits. The gold plating isn't poor quality and neither are the skirts. I fish them until the break usually right at the "R" bend after dozens of fish. The thinner wire breaks eventually, part of the trade off of a thinner wire bait.

That one clearly got passed QC, but unlike most here,  I'm not a fan of the ones that do. I have started bending my trebles to that shape on some lures with good results.

I just bought some #2 Gammy EWG trebles to replace some on my bigger topwaters. They look great. I ordered a box of 9. Amazon sent me 10 at the price of 1. So I have more than a lifetime supply.

As @Bluebasser86 said this is abnormal and in no way a reflection of war eagle quality. I've got a dozen or more of there baits and they are great.

War eagle finness spinnerbaits have been my go spinnerbait this year and have had good results, certainly nothing like what you have pictured. Their quality has been good, bought 8 of them and all are high quality.

War eagle is one of my favorite brands, definitely defective I've never seen one like that. Their hooks are usually very good and don't bend easily.
