Bartableman7 Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 Does anyone make a tube with a pointed nose so I can come through weeds easier? I like to fish my tubes with no weight and a 5/0 heavy Owner hook. Thanks for any information. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 11, 2021 Super User Posted July 11, 2021 I am going to help you out, because that's what I do. I use the Gamble Hollow points for stick baits & tubes and just about any weightless soft plastic. Can be used as they come, or you can pop off that little tube & spring deal and just peg it. I use a small bobber stop. Here's the link https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gambler_Hollow_Points_5pk/descpage-GHP.html and this is what it looks like on a stick bait. You're welcome A-Jay 1 Quote
Bartableman7 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Thank you sir. I'll give them a try. 1 Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted July 12, 2021 Super User Posted July 12, 2021 I have a bunch of resin and foam ones floating around, but I don't use them much. I also drill a hole in presta valve covers (If you actually use it on your bicycle wheel, we know you don't really ride, kinda like loop knot and fishing) and use those. Quote
moguy1973 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I've always thought Texas rigged (or stupid rigged) tubes came through cover pretty well myself. I usually use tube jig heads or bullet weights though, so IDK about using them weightless. Quote

Keeps your soft plastic from sliding down the hook shank and balling up on the point, which can really hamper a solid hookset. These two in combination can be quite beneficial. Especially when not using the heaviest tackle. http://parasiteweights.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=30 A-Jay Quote

Medium? Quote

I use the small clips on 2/0, 3/0 and sometimes 4/0 (if the bait is short or perhaps I bite off a bit) EWG hooks. The medium clip takes care of bigger baits on 4/0 & 5/0 EWG hooks. I rarely go bigger than that (at least in domestic waters). A-Jay 1 Quote
detroit1 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I have used the cap from certain bottles to do the same. Just drill a hole and thread it on. Not as good as Ajay's set - up, but it works and costs nothing. Quote
