NOVAbasskid Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Do I need to lubricate the steering cables? I have some WD-40 and boought some marine silicone, was trying to decide which to use to lubricate it. Any Help Would be appreciated. This question arised when my Motorguide 81# thrust tour something another trolling motor messed up on me this past weekend. Caused me to realize upon my attempts to fix it that the steering cable had been off one of the wheels and rubbing on a bolt for years I'm sure (had cut 2/3 of the way through the bolt). Quote
Team_Dougherty Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 WD-40 is not a very good lubricant. It evaporates to fast. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted January 11, 2010 Super User Posted January 11, 2010 If anything needs to be lubed it probably is the bearings on the shaft inside the head. Quote
