Super User A-Jay Posted July 7, 2021 Super User Posted July 7, 2021 He'll be the one I talk about for the rest of my days ~ RIP Teddy ~ "Not the least hard thing to bear when they go from us, these quiet friends, is that they carry away with them so many years of our own lives". A-Jay 37 Quote

Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted July 7, 2021 Global Moderator Posted July 7, 2021 From our pack to yours we’re sorry to hear this. One of the hardest things we have to go through is letting our friends cross the rainbow bridge. 3 1 Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted July 7, 2021 Super User Posted July 7, 2021 I don't care how tough you think you are, you cry like a baby when you loose one that's been like a family member. One of the hardest things I've ever done is take one to the vet to be put down after 17 years of being with us. I've been fortunate with the others, they all went fairly quickly without much warning and not having to make that trip to the vet. 6 Quote
hokiehunter373 Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 Lost my best bud a month and a half ago to a sudden and severe case of multi centric lymphoma. It sucks more than anyone can put into words. It's heart wrenching and the pain will be there for a while but it does get better. The hardest is the daily things that happen where you think they'll still be there but then they're not. Eventually those turn into nice reminders of the pup you loved. Every day I wish I still had my Sophie around but I'm glad to have the memories from when she was. From the bottom of my heart, I'm so sorry for your loss. I feel for you more than you know. 2 Quote

BayouSlide Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 You and I are dog people. And every dog who leaves us, and they all leave much too soon, takes a piece of our heart that we will never get back. But it's a gift we freely give them for all the joy they give us in return. My thoughts are with you, brother. 4 1 Quote

quanjig Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 It’s never a simple or easy thing to do, may the happy memories and the best of times carry you through 1 Quote
desmobob Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 You have my sympathy. Losing a pet, especially the most loyal type in the world, is extremely painful. My all-time best buddy had a similar color scheme as your pal Teddy... Here he was as an old dog... ...and him and I together as young pups... 2 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted July 7, 2021 Super User Posted July 7, 2021 It is always hard to lose a much loved pet. I know your pain. The last dog I had needed to be put down at 17.5 years old. You never forget them. 2 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted July 8, 2021 Super User Posted July 8, 2021 That's terrible and I'm sorry for your loss... looks like he was quite a splendid fella. Approximately 3 years ago we lost all 3 of our dogs over the course of a few months and it was an absolute gut punch to the family's gut. Planted a dogwood tree out back for each of them and still think of them often. RIP Teddy. 2 2 Quote

Super User TOXIC Posted July 9, 2021 Super User Posted July 9, 2021 Sorry for your loss. We’ve got a 17 year old Weimaraner that is starting to fail. It’s our 2nd one. The first was my dog bonded to me like a glove. The current one is bonded to my wife. I got him for that reason because I was on the road so much. I don’t know if I can go through it again after this one departs. 2 Quote
