So I am going to be fishing the most pressured lake in my whole county, and it is Gen clear. Honestly it's rough getting bit here but I will try my best. I'll also note it's super tiny for the amount of pressure it gets, like super tiny not near the size as most lakes. What's your favorite thing to throw in this situation? Mine is a straight tail worm or something like that, what about you guys? ?

My favorite thing to throw is the towel and go to a different lake. Not a fan of fishing where everyone else is.

Yeah not the biggest fan either but it's the cards I've been delt ?

I understand. I usually try to go one of two ways. Either you can cover water with a fast moving bait and try to put it in front of as many fish as possible and hope to fool a few dumb ones, or slow down with small and natural stuff and hope to hit a few on the nose.

Does the name of  this " small " lake, start with a C. ?

I guess it's not a secret lake but it's called lake poway in sandiego, TONS of bass fishing pressure, I mean it is rough, almost as rough as Dixon, where a large record bass was caught. Super tiny and not large by any means

Yeah I feel like I'll try this method, I'll probably stick to the latter because if you where to see the ridiculous amount of pressure this place gets, 50 guys are throwing spinnerbaits on the weekend or some moving bait. It's gonna be rough ?

I dont have a strategy for heavily pressured waters . I just carry on like normal . Now sometime during the day I may come up with something . The wheels are always turning .

Besides Senkos, I'd throw my hat in for Megabass Spark Shads in Real color on a 1/16th or 1/8th head.  I use ned heads but im sure any swimbait head would cut it

I got a few ned rig heads with a small exposed hook and a tiny weedgaurd which could be really good for these!

Pressure being the limiting factor, a good thing to try is something different than all the pressure. If you see 50 guys throwing spinnerbaits, don’t use a spinnerbait

Senkos, and just in case, a can of night crawlers to fend off the skunk monster.

O.K., I assumed you were up here in L.A.

I’ll use this to help me fish at Ramona park, which is very, very pressured in my town of Portage. And I would also agree that finesse would be the way to go in that situation.

I’d fold the hand and hope for better cards to be dealt on the next one!

If it is a clear lake with spooky fish, I like to throw a shaky head with an 1/8oz jig head, senkos weightless, and fat ika.  All fished slow.  Another thing, I use light line 6lb to 10lb FC, no braid, and the longest cast I can manage.  Another piece of advice, use the trolling motor as little as possible and try to spot up (on occasion) in an area where you are sure the fish are (let them come to you).

Since that thing from China.......every lake is pressured.

I can't make a long stealthy cast as it will land in someone's lap.

Advice:  go very early.

You mean a spinnerbait doesn’t solve all my problems? ☹️

Oh If you are talking about Castaic lake as well, I'd say that has less pressure, which is crazy to think about lol

Ah yes,  I have noticed going early helps,  I don't know if the lower visibility in clear water helps but it seems too, overcast days or windy days seem to make the world of a difference as well for some reason

Good to know good to know, I got 8lb copoly ATM but will tie a floro leader because it may help out that much

A good point, I have some smaller 2.8 swimbaits on 1/4th oz jigheads, fast and small may be a good bet

There's a small lake near me that's about 35 acres and maybe 12 feet deep.  I've never been there with less than 10 other people on the water, and there's usually around 30-50 if the weather is nice.  On a holiday weekend, you may not be able to find a spot from the bank.  So it's small and very heavily pressured.

On that lake, jigs, spinnerbaits, topwaters, basically anything large and loud seems to work best.  It's kind of the opposite of what you'd think.  But most everyone who goes there fishes with live bait, so the fish are used to seeing small, finesse style presentations.  They want large and loud, because it's the opposite of worms, nightcrawlers, minnows, and stink bait.  It's a small City lake with no ramp, so most serious bass anglers avoid it, and everyone who wants to take their kids or grandkids fishing goes there.  Senkos, drop shots, shakey heads, Ned rigs... they're a waste of time.

Point is, it's hard to say what will work until you've tried it.  On a pressured lake, it sometimes helps to throw the opposite of what the fish are used to seeing.  So don't count anything out until you've tried it.

Might try a jerkbait?  Dark Sleeper?  Buzzbait?  Finesse jig?

I need to pick up a dark sleeper for sure, I do have some buzzbaits which could work in the morning, would totally use a jerkbait if not for the grass,, and finesse jigs could also be worth a try did not think of that. Thanks for these ideas, brainpower being put together is strong!
