I always try to be about 15 min early.  I've been burned too many times by arriving right on time just to be told I'm late.  Now I'm the first to arrive.

I worked a job that demanded I be at a certain stop +or- 15min. My performance was based primarily on accomplishing that on a regular basis.  I became, what my wife and kids call, the Schedule Master.

Although I rarely early, I'm also rarely late. A 9:30 doctor appointment sees me walking in a t 9:29. I don't like to waste time waiting. If I tell my fishing partner that I'll pick him up at 5:30, he knows I'll be pulling in his driveway at 5:30. He also knows his butt better be coming out the door when I do.

Ugh this is the worst. Im the type that will fish a tide any given time of day or night, even if it means waking at 2am to hit a 3am tide. 99% of the time I fish by myself. All the guys in my fishing group however, ugh the worst. Late risers, late starters, never on time or early etc... if I need to be there at 6:30, im there at 5:45 lol

I’m never late. Try ridin’ motorcycles with 3 other guys - herding cats.

An angler is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.

Funny, none of the notoriously late folk have responded. Where are all the late people? Thread is a few days old, so it's late enough now.

My friend should respond here, he's late, at least with me. He doesn't fish though. "Hey, Mike, I'm right around the corner...coupla minutes!"

15 minutes later I'm sitting on the porch wondering why I believed him this time. Best friend so...

My own brother would call and say he was on his way.  I still haven't seen him and it's been a month.

Tardiness is a pet peeve of mine. Whether it’s at work or in my personal life I can’t stand people being late. My clients know that if they are more than 15 minutes late I’m leaving the clinic and going home. At home, if you tell me you’re showing up at 4:30 that means you will be there at or before 4:30. If you’re late you’re getting left behind. It’s a respect thing, I respect your time so you need to respect mine.

I fish out of a kayak..sometimes I'm meeting others at the launch, sometimes I'm going it alone.  Either way, I get there when I plan to, if the others are late they can find me on the water somewhere.

I have been late for many things in my life, but I can guarantee I have never been, and will never be late for four things.

1- Church.

2- Fishing

3- Hunting

4- My own funeral

I'm always early almost to the point of being ridiculous. Typically, my fishing buddies meet at my house and I'm always outside early checking things and then double checking them. I've streamlined my prepping for a day of fishing and pretty much have it down to a science. If time allows, I'll triple check. My buddies are usually just on time and I don't have issue with that but I'm not comfortable with being "right on time".

In regards to fishing if I'm flying solo I'm always later than I want to be. If I'm with a fishing buddy, I'm obnoxiously early and chomping at the bit to go out. This also determines who I make those early fishing plans with, because some of my buddies won't even roll out of bed until 8am.

Usually I don't sleep that well the night before. Too anxious to get out on the water, lol. That's gotten even worse with age and my time on the water being a whole lot less than it used to be when I had less responsibilities.

I abhor tardiness, when I was a young private at Ft. Hood I was 5 minutes late to the 15 minute early formation for PT once...I thought I was going to get over on it too until my squad leader called me in to the office and decided to inform me that my punishment for being late would be to unload a truck full of supplies that had just arrived and would I mind taking my sorry, can't show up on time a$$ out back to the loading dock to get started? A quick yes Sergeant and I was running out the door, and to my complete surprise there was no truck...what there WAS however was 5 or 6 other NCO's who made d**n sure that I understood what on time meant and I spent the rest of the day down at the aid station getting stitched up, a couple of fingers and toes set/taped after being broken, and telling the officer sent to conduct the 15-6 that I had tripped and fallen off the dock due to clumsiness on my part, never been a minute late in my life since then, and I am known to get incredibly offended at others when they choose to be so when they are expecting me to give them my time.
