Daiwa reel for crankbaits

Looking for opinions on a daiwa reel to launch square bill to medium diving crankbaits. I currently use aTatula sv, looking to add distance. Thank you.

Tatula Elite, Quantum Tour S3 or Quantum Smoke S3 (or the KVD model)

 

 

or if you can find a used one in good condition, a Pinnacle Primmus HS Xi or

 

Okuma Helios Air.  There are some Shimanos that I'm sure would also work, but I've

 

little experience with the newer models.  I like my Curado 201E7 and Chronarch

 

100B for distance casting, too.

From what I have seen (since I don't own one), the Tatula SV is a pretty good casting reel.  I would consider looking at what rod, line and possibly what bait you are using. 

 

For me, my favorite set ups for crankbaits are a 2012 Antares and a St. Croix Legend Glass Med. and a Shimano Bantam with a G. Loomis IMX 903C CBR.

   Hand in glove. Your reel is important, but it needs to match the rod. Which rod are you using? Which line? As @Catt likes to say, "Rods cast lures. Reels store line." That might be an oversimplification, but it emphasizes the need to have the right rod.

   Has the reel been degreased and re-lubed?

   Have you measured the longest cast you can manage right now?

   The Tat is no slouch in the distance department, so I suspect a little TLC and system matching will get you some improvement.

 

   OTOH ..... new reels are always fun!  ??           jj

The SV won't win any distance competitions, it's made for control. I use a SV too but I would ideally go with a Tatula 100 or a Tatula Elite depending how much I'm looking to spend.

I will throw in another vote for the tatula elite, I got one for my frog rod and I love it it cast far enough for me and has been reliable. I want to try a fuego eventually but haven’t got around to buying one yet. I own a tatula sv tatula elite and a steez a tw, haven’t been let down daiwa yet.

Thanks for the responses. Couldn't resist buying an xbites  a while back for another application which has left me 1 reel short. I realize the rod makes a huge difference but I need a reel for now and figured I'd see thoughts on one for those specific weight ranges of the crankbaits I mentioned.  Thank you all for the input.
