Super User DitchPanda Posted July 3, 2021 Super User Posted July 3, 2021 Talking brush offshore here...anywhere between 4-12 fow. My pond is so low now I can actually reach some of this offshore brush...in middle of coves and off points...from the bank. What baits do you prefer for this type of fishing? 2 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted July 3, 2021 Super User Posted July 3, 2021 I like to hit them with spinnerbaits or buzzbaits first too see if I can pickoff aggressive fish . Then I use Texas rigged senko type worms . The brush piles I fish are home to dinks , bluegill and crappie along with bigger bass . I dont want to tempt those little ones with , appendages , fire tails , or any kind of enticing tail to nibble on . I get a "lot" fewer phantom hooksets with Texas rigged stick worms and a quarter ounce weight than other offerings , so I catch a "lot" more bass with them . Quote
Biglittle8 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Jigs with oversize trailers for deeper stuff. Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits in shallow (4ft) water. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted July 3, 2021 Super User Posted July 3, 2021 Trigged craws and worms for me but mine are a lot deeper piles, like 15 to 30 feet deep. 1 Quote
Scott804 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Shakin' head. Don't be afraid to throw big Shakeyheads on casting, either. Toss it into that brush pile and shake. It almost feels unfair sometimes. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted July 3, 2021 Super User Posted July 3, 2021 Child rig right in the thick of things Quote
Kenny Yi Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 buzz/spinner/chatter in that order first, then a jig/t-rig, then a something finesse like a Neko/dropshot Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted July 4, 2021 Super User Posted July 4, 2021 Jig and craw, t-rig, weightless plastic worm and senko. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 5, 2021 Super User Posted July 5, 2021 3/16 oz bullet weight, 3/0 straight shank hook, Mr Twister Phenom Worm. 1 Quote
