Other than that I think it's cool to see Seaguar come out with a very entry level fluorocarbon in the new BasiX. A solid fluoro for 9.99 will let a lot more people use it I would think.

Me too.  I can't wait to try it out.  Hopefully it isn't junk.

Kind of disappointed in Zman offerings now that they branch out. Following in the footsteps of their menace knock off they are charging a big price for less plastics. They will last a bit longer yes, but if you break off they aren’t cheap.

speaking of Menace knock offs the power bait option is intriguing. I may have to try a few packs of them.

For how much confidence I have in a Zman plastic, they are worth the price.  How much more expesive are they then regular stuff?

For the goat and billy goat it is 5 bucks for a 4 and 3 pack. My concern is the TRDs would tear by where the hook point exits the bait, so would the pro slider head, heavier gauge hook, start slipping after a fish or two and would it no longer be weedless? Their new 3.75” craw is 4.50 for 3 craws and the speed worm is 6 buck for 5 worms. What I used to like about their baits like the Zinkerz is they are one of the cheaper Ned baits out there and they lasted a long time.

Yes I am cheap lol. I have a lot of Menace grubs but they were only bought on sale.

I could argue that ive never seen every worm in the world so there could be a bright pink one out there..... But im not haha. That's true, but my personal taste in swimbaits is realistic to what's local. But that's just me.

It’s mostly the action of the bait that gets the fish to strike anyways…color is a secondary trigger.

Super glue will hold the neds on the hook, and last a lot longer fish.  Apparently, loctite is the best for  elaztech.  One menace can last maybe 5 fish.  One zman plastic can last 20+.  Elaztech doesn't tear unless you pull really hard.

I didn’t explain that well. I was talking about the bend of the hook. A rage menace or Kalins grub grip the plastic stay weedless a long time. I liked biospawn baits but they slipped down the bend of the hook all the time exposing the hooks to weeds. All on slider heads. The question is will Zman baits slide down the bend of the hook when lightly used exposing the hook to weeds.

loctite gel is great for Ned rigs. That said I need to use up some plastics so I don’t worry about it right now;) the downside to stretching the use of baits is you don’t go through a lot that you have bought over 20 years lol.

I don't think so, I've never had it happen.  They stay on the hooks pretty well.

Out of everything featured in that article I will positively purchase  DT8s in Dark Brown Crawdad, Helsinki Shad, Fire Tiger, Caribbean Shad and Silver.

$10 Seaguar Basix fluorocarbon is worth a try at that price point.

Love the whole concept of the Sunline backing line, especially 1000 yds for $12.49.

Items that interest me but not sure if I’ll go ahead and let the bait monkey get the best of me are the Spook Boyo, the Mid Brat and the football style Ned jig head.

Glad to see the power jig....still have an original.  I hope they still have the integrated rattle.  $10?!  They were $5 in 2002, which I thought was high at the time.

I've been flipping a Billy Goat with a 5/0 straight shank into water willows on 50lb braid. I've got several fish (including a spotted gar of all things), on the same bait and after last trip I took it off and put it back in the pack to use again.
