billmac Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Anyone dropshot using tubes? I know Glenn has a video on it. Smallmouth love tubes. Smallmouth love dropshot. It seems like a good combination. The main reason I ask is that I have lots of tubes, but not so many other drop shot baits and my local stores don't seem to be carrying much. Quite likely sold out because of the recent MLF and upcoming BASS Elite tourneys. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 1, 2021 Global Moderator Posted July 1, 2021 Yeah buddy! Just nose hook it. When you use the tube as the sinker, somehow the whole rig becomes useless though Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted July 1, 2021 Super User Posted July 1, 2021 I've had some luck drop-shooting tubes. Best results have been with those that have floating appendages as opposed to ones that don't and droop over. If they droop, then you end up over-working the bait to keep it horizontal IMO. I had some success with the 3 inch Biwaa Armored Craw... which is closer to 2.5 inches and about right size for most crayfish. Fish, especially smallmouth, seem to like the shrimp scent as well... Kenny Yi Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 never done it, I'm sure it works (since a tube is a profile bait and since weightless tubes also work), but whenever I use a tube, I want the spiral effect on the fall. honestly there are very few plastic baits that can't dropshot... also, no finesse worms at your stores? ?
