Get rid of the metal hook and use a gripper please. Or you can use a measuring board since length is a more universal, accurate measurement. Scales are inaccurate and need to be calibrated unless everyone is using the same one like at a tournament weigh in. Sorry, but I'm gonna trust a scale to tell me the weight of a fish over a ruler. 1 Quote

This isn't the first time it's happened, either. See the "That's One Big Bait!" thread about the rat. Keep calling names tho. Makes you look quite intelligent. Quote

Show me where I said a measuring board is to be used to weigh a fish. Everyone with a brain knows that a scale is used to weigh items and a measuring board is used to measure length. Clearly I did not indicate you should be using a scale to measure length of a fish. I was simply stating that every scale being used out there to weigh fish is inconsistent. You could weigh a bass with your scale and it might read 3 pounds, 4 ounces. If I used mine, it most certainly will not read the same weight. So who's is accurate if we're all using different scales? At a tournament everyone is using the same scale so the weights are consistent. On a website with people all over the country, not so much. If you measured an 18 inch bass on your board, and I did the same on mine, its both going to be 18 inches. Every measuring board or tape is exactly the same. If you want to use your scale to weigh a fish, go ahead. I prefer to measure mine for consistency. Quote

I bought a new Berkley scale to keep in my kayak and caught a decent fish last week. When I went to weigh it, it wouldn't turn on. Sadly it seemed fairly accurate when I tested it out when I first got it. I have another Rapala and it generally works too, but the heat has warped it a little bit although that lasted a few years and many fish at least. I'm wondering what I should replace it with.
