awfireman Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Hello Folks, After years of fishing around all of New England in a 12' Coleman Crawdad and finally going to buy a legit, gas powered Bass Boat. I would like a boat that seats 4. I was looking at the Lund Pro 1875 V XS bass which would give me the flexibility to bass fish shallows as well as tackle the larger lakes here in New England for musky, etc and has 2 jump seats behind the two main seats. I have a wife and 2 daughters that mostly just like to cruise around and passively fish. Myself, I am a hardcore fisherman so trying to find a decent boat that will suit both my needs...fishing and family. I do not want a boat with a windshield. Are there any other options I am missing? Trying not to break the bank either, if thats even possible these days. Thanks for any help and advice you can give me. -Fireman Quote
Vilas15 Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 The Pro V bass XS was the first thing that came to my mind. It would be perfect for me being a multispecies fisherman who doesn't troll. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted June 23, 2021 Super User Posted June 23, 2021 I can’t think of any other model bass boat that offers seating for more than 3. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 23, 2021 Super User Posted June 23, 2021 Crestliner Basshawk has a similar boat for less money https://www.crestliner.com/bass-hawk/1850-bass-hawk/ 2 Quote
K1500 Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 A bay boat is another option with more capacity. Mine is rated for 8 and seats 4 very comfortably. Quote
GRiver Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 I fished out of a pontoon boat for a while, lots of room. the one I had wasn’t fast but I had a lot of fun. Friends went with me even if they didn’t fish, it had alive well and trolling motor too. It was a 24 ft, it could hold 12 people… I never took that many fishing. The wife and her friends came sometimes and would just work on their tans.. put a little grill on it and cooked out too. pontoon boats aren’t for everyone but might be something to check out. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted June 28, 2021 Super User Posted June 28, 2021 All true bass boats have a single row of seating. Multi species have the pedestal seats. If you look at really old bass boats some had an open bow and a wrap around bench. Quote

It'd make sense with the open bow and seating like you described. Reminds me of my Papaw's boat that I grew up on. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted June 29, 2021 Super User Posted June 29, 2021 Older rangers have bench seating in bow and some even have it in the stern. Only reason I know is that I moderate a Ranger boats page on Facebook and a lot of owners are always asking for instructions on how to build a casting deck for them. I would take 3 + me on guide trips but my old boat had a flip down seat in the middle. Even with that someone usually ended up sitting on the floor facing the rear of the boat with their back against the front casting deck because 3 across is the only comfortable way to utilize the seats. With kids involved, a traditional bass boat hull would be uncomfortable with 4. Especially when the hooks start flying. ? Quote
Deephaven Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 My boat isn't exactly a bass boat, but it seats 4 easy, has no windshield and has a great front platform. There is a bit more gunnel, but along with it comes better rough water handling. It is a Ranger 620t, they made an 618T which has a smaller motor and is shorter. Warrior also makes a 2090BT, and 1890BT, Lund an 1875 and 2075/2010 Pro Guide, Alumacraft a 185 and 205 Tiller as well. I bought mine for the same reasons as you. Wanted a bass boat, but need to take 4. Slight difference in my case is they all want to fish. 1 Quote
