What's your favourite size spinning reel for bass fishing?  Mine are mostly Shimano, and I like a 2500 size.                                         In Phlueger reels, I like 35 size. The Diawas I've owned I like size 2000, and 2500.                                 What everyone like as far as spinning reel size?

Guess I'm funny about not being fond of the mid-size - only have one, a Tica that's a salty ML loaner.

My go-to reels are Stradics and a Vanquish.

I dig 4000-5000 reels for inshore and near offshore (more Tica loaners)

Like Daiwa, Tica 3000 is Shimano 5000.

My favorite spinning spot is 1000-2000 (yes, that Tica 1500 gets loaned, but sometimes I'm stingy with it...), and the 500 size are just plain fun

For finesse & panfish, 2500 size, for smallies up on great Lakes 4000 size. With the bigger reels now weighing under 8 oz, I like bigger for much better line management.

My spinning arsenal:

three Okuma RTX 30's (panfish)

two Shimano Stradic 2500 Ci4+'s (finesse bass)

two Pflueger Patriarch XT 35's (crankbaits when using spinning)

two Daiwa Tatula LT 4000's (Great Lake smallies)

Notice, I'm not "brand dedicated"?

I like big reels (4000), Med heavy & heavy spinning rods, big lures and stout line. Basically fishing with  musky gear hoping for that Big'un.  I do have lighter reels for jerkbaits and other "medium finesse" presentations. When Mr. BigShot comes I want to be ready...

I only fish Pfluegers and prefer a size 30 in their lineup but have some 35's on a few rods as well.

I like my reels smaller than most.

Finesse fishing - 1000 size (Pflueger 25) - I have 3 in this class

General - 2000-2500 size (Pflueger 30) - I have 2 in this class

Heavier techniques - 3000 size (Pflueger 35) - 1 of these...my main skipping rig on a MH/F rod

My main criteria for a bass spinning reel is being lightweight.

All these reels are around 6.7 oz or less in weight - preferably less.

My bass spinning reels are 1000, 2000 and 2500 size.

For trout - 500, 750 and 1000 size.

The 500 and 750 size are my ultralight reels, which I also use for crappie and other panfish.

I have way more fun on light tackle.

3000 size and larger are for other species like catfish and stripers.

The only spinning reels I have larger than 3000 size are my baitrunner type reels.

I fish Daiwa LT variants so the 3000 size.  The 2500 shares the same body size so the larger diameter spool is an advantage in casting distance and line twist reduction.

I have two Daiwa reels in the 2500 size I use most of the time. Also have two Lews reels in the 2000 size I use occasionally. I have never tried any other sizes.

I only have 5 spinning rigs for bass - all but one with a 2500 size reel.  3 are Stradics, 1 is a Pflueger Supreme (I think its 35) and the other is the newest and probably my favorite - a 2000 Kage LT on a 7' L/F ALX Zolo (fishes more like a ML).  My main concern is they're fast and don't flex.  It wouldn't do for me to have beautiful gear like @bulldog1935, us river types just aren't gentle on gear.

The spinning reels I use the most are Pflueger size 35 reels.  When I owned Shimano spinning reels I used the 2500 size.

No favorite size, I use 1000-3000 depending on what I'm doing, and on rare occasions a 4000. Right tool for the job.

For Bass, I like the 2000 size Vanford for most applications.

The 1000 size is great for Ned and close combat DS.

If I could have only one spinning reel for bass fishing, the bigger the better, as long as it is around 7oz or under.

I fish the same as you with 2500 and 2000 reels. The 2500 and 3000 Nasci are basically the same reel. Size and weight. The 3000 having a higher gear ratio and a slightly different spool capacity. I fish with both and a slew of Shimano reels.

For potential Nasci fans. Nasci spools are not braid ready. At least on the 1000, 2500, 3000. Easy to make braid ready with rubber tape. Just an FYI.

I fish everything freshwater with either old white Stradic 1000's, or a 750 size for crappie.  It all has to balance out in my hands while on the rod.
