Buying a Used G Loomis IMX 563 without receipt? Warranty Concerns.

Hey guys, been having issues with a few Shimano rods I've owned and their 1 Year Warranty on $300 rods is getting expensive when they break. Would buying a used G Loomis IMX-Pro 563JWR LTD without a receipt/Proof of Purchase be a decent purchase? I don't mind spending $300ish for a used rod so long as I can get my money's worth with a warranty claim or two. I know that G loomis states you need the receipt for warranty claims but this rod seems to be from before the 2020 Warranty Change. Thanks.

My guess is without a proof of purchase you don't have a warranty.

I know by experience that rods made before 2020 don’t need proof of purchase. I recently had my conquest 843mbr snap into three pieces on the hook set of a 12 inch bass, was only running 10lb invis x and the drag was not locked down all the way on my metanium b xg. Had to check my email I received when I inquired about the issue and that is what they told me.

Because he is an American sporting goods consumer. I get the type in the bike shop all the time, bike in hand. I let the conversation get interesting before jumping over the top rope and tagging one of my sales guys WWE style. Makes my day.

Because they offer a lifetime warranty program so they can charge a premium for their products. A 36k mile warranty doesn't just disappear because the car gets passed onto someone else?

G Loomis' limited life time warranty has never been transferable.

That's why it has 'limited' in it - it's limited to the original purchaser...you buy it used, any repair work is on your dime.

A  $20,000+ auto warranty doesn't compare to a $200-400 rod warranty. Both Shimano & G Loomis warranty only applies to the original owner. If you want a warranty buy a new rod.
