Day in & day out my preference for feeding a tube to the local brown bass population is

The Performance Series" Bite Size 3.5"  Tube by PROvider Tackle - in BBQ Melon

http://www.providertackle.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=66_70&product_id=174

My jighead preference has chanced a few times the past few seasons.

Most recently I've been smitten by a 5/16 oz Swagger Tackle Tungsten Compound Tube Jighead

River Rock tubes on an Oldham's style weedless 3/0 tube hook in 1/4oz.

I rig mine with an internal jighead, usually 1/4 oz but I'll go down to 1/8 or up to 3/8 at times. All that is dictated by depth, current and ROF.

I'm also not picky with the bait itself either. Different tubes just have different characteristics. I use the XZone X-Tube, Coffee Tubes and Power Tubes. The coffee tubes and xtubes are pretty similar; fairly thick walls and lots of salt. The power tubes have thinner walls and less salt.

My go to tubes are the Secret Lures stupid tube in the Bluegill color, with the Xzone X-tube in the Killer Perch color being a close second. I almost exclusively rig them on the Secret Lures stupid tube jig heads in the 1/8oz 4/0 and 1/4oz 4/0 size depending on the depth I'm fishing.

Zoom 4 inch green pumkin tube.  So far I have had more success on the zoom tubes more than anything else.  They Killl smallies and large mouth alike.  Fishing lakes I use an internal jig usually 1/4 oz.  most rivers I t-rig it unless I’m fishing the Shiawassee I’ll use a 1/8 oz jig.

. Cabelas sells a house brand jig heads dirt cheap.  The strike king tube jigs are good too just more money

My favorite for big fish is a 5in. hand poured tube rigged with a 1/4oz. 60degree line tie jig.  I can rig that tube with the jig set far back from the nose for some awesome action on the fall, or pushed all the way in for dragging along the bottom.+

For numbers, a 3in. tube (also hand poured)  rigged with a 1/8oz. jig.

3.5-3.75 is the sweet spot for smallmouth, 4.5" for largemouth.

For smallies, I pour a stupid tube head on a 3/0 EWG hook with an 1/8oz lead. Largemouth I'll usually use a 1/4oz bullet weight and 4/0 EWG.

This year I’ve been using the Xtreme Bass Tackle 4” tubes in ‘Sweet Green’ and ‘St. Clair Goby NFT’ w/ 1/4 oz Strike King jig heads. I had more success last year using the Strike King Coffee Tubes in 3.5” and ‘Green Pumpkin’ rigged w/ the same jig heads.

I plan on eventually going down to 1/8 considering the water I fish is generally between 4 - 6 feet.

I am on a similar track as you, I prefer the smaller tubes for brown bass and the bigger ones for green bass, although I go even smaller than 3.5 inches.  Strike King makes a bitsy tube and zman tubez are my preference for smallmouth.  I like the berkley power tubes for largemouth.

Multiple ways to rig them.  Gamagatsu makes a skip gap hook specifically designed for a tube to be fished weedless.  When I'm use the smaller tubes for brown bass I use a northland tube jig or a mushroom head jig on the zman tubez.

I prefer natural colors like green pumpkin and root beer.

I exclusively use Bass Pro 4.5" Magnum flipping tubes with either a 1/4 or 3/8oz weight.  Great tubes and get better the more they are used.

I either use Zoom tubes, or BPS tubes.  I t-rig them with a 1/8 oz. bullet weight.

I should fish tubes more . They worked well for me when used . I have several packs  of Gizits in a dark brown almost black color that I snagged from a discount bin . Those are what I use . Not saying they are better than others but I have had good success with them .

My go to setup for the tube is using a flat piece of lead with a hole in one end . inserted into the tube and using a skip gap Gama hook. the  flat spot on the skip gap holds the tube but also creates a resting spot for the internal weight.

I'm a bit of a tube junky, and use various brands ranging from 2.5-4" depending on the application.  Right Bite, Secret Lures, Mizmo, ISG, Case, Poor Boy's, River Rock and Get Bit are all quality tubes. The smaller tubes I generally fish with an insert head or on a drop shot, the bigger ones with an insert head or t-rigged. I use a lot of colors but green squash (BPS calls it puke) and green/blue are my favorites

River Rock tubes are the best tubes I've ever used and I have fish a lot of different tubes. They have kill colors but there are a couple of staples. Green pumpkin/black, and black melon flash are killers but if you are in gin clear water nothing is as good as light special!!!  I make my own internal tube heads and I use 2 sizes mainly, 3.5" and 2.75".

Dark Special is better! Very similar to Gitzits Brown.

Tubes are one of those baits that I want to like but I have never had good luck with them doing anything but skipping where I would otherwise just skip a senko.  I don't know what it is, but I can catch fish on a drop shot, then switch up to a tube and...nothing.

I used to always Strike King coffee tubes. A year and a half ago I found a Bio Spawn Vile Tube in watermelon gold flake it caught fish like crazy so that's what I have been using for now.

Used to be the trigger X tube that well if you know you know, writing about the design would make a few giggle and likely offend someone. I tried to replace it with the swing oil J tube, but nothing special. This year I bought a 100 pack of the big bite craw tube, which is similar if I cut the claw parts off. I fished them this summer and they were spectacular with the craw bits on.

weight for fishing down to 7 feet a Pro classic 1/4 spider head. I never have rigged a tube internally.

while the above two tubes were spectacular, pretty much all the brands I have tried have caught bass. It’s pretty hard to screw up a tube.

I use stupid lures, the 3.7 tube and their jig heard d too. Lately the color has been magic craw or smoke purple.

I use the Owner Ultrahead Darter jigheads, usually in 1/16 and 1/8oz and my favorite tubes are the X-Zones, each size pairs perfectly with each size jighead.
