LED trailer lights

Do you guys who have these on your trailer unplug them before backing in the water? They are submersible lights but I want the advice of someone who has them. I just installed a set and the Walmart employee who I asked left me less than confident he knew what he was talking about.  ::)The lights are made by Tiger Accessories Group. I think they are exactly the same light sold as Blazer. My on-line research is inconclusive.

No I don't unplug them the led lights are sealed so no water can get in and unlike bulbs they don't get hot so dunking them in the water will not broke the bulb or in this case the led.

I am excited about not having to deal with standard lights; what a pain. If I always remembered to unplug them, my experience may have been better, but I was changing bulbs regularly. The last straw was breaking a new bulb (my last) while installing it.

My biggest problem is if I unplug my lights before I back in I NEVER remember to plug them back in.....

Had them for 5 years and never unplug them. All are still original evcept one that got a hole in it. It was a sibe light that probably took a rock from the road.

After a couple of months of using the lights my only comment is 'Why did I wait so long?'  8-)

I have them on my trailer and I notice that the side marker lights and rear  marker lights are fine however the multi-function lights (Brake, Light, Directional) I have noticed numerous LEDs have started going out. I have had some terrible luck with another set of LED lights from Bass Pro Shops. It actually caught fire and was smoking as I was driving home. It wasnt my connections to the unit but the internal connections inside the sealed unit burnt out.

Nope, I never unplug my L.E.D lights... I Installed them this year and have had zero problems.

I had LEDs on my previous trailer and never had a problem - and never unplugged them.  My new (used) trailer has bulbs.  No problems yet, but the first time one of them burns out, all trailer lighting will be replaced with LEDs.

I looked around before buying this set at Wal-Mart.The packaging was different; but made by the same company.

I'm getting led's this winter for the boat trailer. I've had the bulb type for all of my trailers and I never unplugged them before going in the water and never had a problem.

Good timing on this. I've been looking myself and doing some research, and have come to understand this. If you can afford them, LED's are the way to go; however, if you're gunna buy them, don't base your choice on which to buy on the cheapest ones you find. I've seen pictures and comments from people who have purchased LED's and as mentioned above, within less than a year, the lights start going out either one bulb at a time, or row at a time. The Blazer products are made in Taiwan. Some company's products are made in the USA and then sent to China to be assembled. Optronics is what I will be purchasing, which is made and assembled in the USA. Interestingly enough, the Bass Pro near me stocks Optronics in the old bulb style lamps, and Blazer in all the LED's. Of my research, Optronics seems to be regarded as top quality in the industry.

Blazer LED's. Guess I'll be installing them instead of the Optronics after all. Just need to buy some clearance lights for them.
