Once the wife gave me the green light too go fish today I ran like the wind! First I used a wacky worm and then a ned rig but nothing. Then I rigged a clear chartreuse dark sleeper and it was on! Now I see why this bait gets the hype go get some!

And this, my friends, is why I refuse to get married. ;)

I love the Dark Sleeper, especially on hard bottoms. I get caught in wood a LOT, tho.

You refuse to get married cuz you wanna fish?? Man, I think you've either underestimated the joy of marriage, or overestimated the joy of fishing ? Bright side: at least you've got a boat!

I really, really, really love fishing. Maybe some day I'll find someone I love as much. Doubtful, tho. :fishing2:

Don’t do it.  You will have to share the front of the boat if she fishes.

I'm still resisting...mainly because my wallet has cobwebs and my card is screaming in agony.

Maybe this Yule when I get Gift-Certs and checks from the relatives...

3rd-4th cast ever with a dark sleeper, in March.  I've got three in my boxes right now.  Great little lures!

I've gone through 3 of them and haven't caught a fish with them yet. Last one got ripped to shreds and the head pulled out, never did hook a fish with it.

I have a love hate relationship with this bait.  It's a fish catching machine but it's also a snag magnet.   I loose one evertime I fish it.  It snags limbs easily and it also gets wedged into rocks.   One other thing, the eyes suck.  Each one I have used, the eyes fall off after a few casts. .

I really can’t use a snaggy bait, I come from the land of logs and rocks

I remember got a couple of knock off ones.

I have the real ones and the knock offs, the knock offs i use if I start getting hung up but the fish are keyed in on it.

To date I’m fishless on the dark sleeper.  I keep trying tho.

I don’t buy knockoffs.  It hurts the manufacturers.  Just my opinion.

Same here.  I really like the bait, but it is rare that I'm not running into, around, over and through wood....so I snag these too often.

First year I used them had great success but last year and so far this year Ive nearly been fishless with them. The hooks also need a quick go over to check sharpness and have a couple that dont run true.

i have 6 of them (3 different colors of 3/8 and 1/2oz) and have fished them quite a bit. i literally cannot get anything to bite them
