Where did all the fishing equipment go?

Anyone here ever had or used one of these reels or know where  you can buy them? ~

Only thing I'm seeing is they are selling them on eBay from Australia. Have not been able to find them in the US. I went to a couple good sized sporting good stores yesterday and they are picked clean of a lot of items ~ Covid I guess

Covid is still getting the blame for everything and it's honestly beyond me. From companies blaming Covid for a lack of products to people blaming Covid for not working, still.

It IS a limited edition for 2020 - they only made so many and I'm not surprised they sold out.

 

I got a 30 size last fall. Very nice reel.

It's a 'jazzed up' President XT.

 

Operationally - it's a Pres-XT - no difference.

Just a special color job and emblem - and a limited run...nothing more.

 

I got mine from BPS for $50 - so a Pres-XT for the price of a Pres.

Thanks ~ Well it looks more black than blue. I'm trying to find a reel that has a red, white and blue color theme (like the first photo I posted) to match a patriotic rod in the red, white and blue colors. I found the reel you have at BPS on line for $47.99 and it's in stock but the body looks black on their site too. Black is not going to cut it on this rod.

The 2020 Limited Edition model was a black base. I think the 2017 Limited Edition was the blue.

Ya - if you want to pay 50% more than list or almost 3x what BPS/Cabelas was selling them for.

 

I got one because I got an XT for the price of a non-XT - not because it was the LE...really no difference between the XT-LE and the plain XT.

actually, I wasn't planning to buy any, but did answer the OP's question.  

 

I don't have a need for a reel in my sights - set and backed-up.

Cabela had this on sale a while back, possibly the month of november if I rememer right. Honestly I was not impressed. Opened ALOT of them out of the box and unless you oiled it, the regular president felt better. And yes unfortunatly Covid messed alot of things up in the industry with just people getting laid off and slowing down production. Certain big companys had productions shutdown for 8 months. The demand for fishing went up and no one can keep up with it now.

Plus, the only ones BPS has left are the 35s - 3000 size. I've got a 3000 reel...on my MH/F rig that I use for skipping jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, etc.

 

A 30 is the size I use on a medium rod - weightless worms, shakyheads, etc.

25 is a finesse reel - drop/split shots, neds, etc

20 is for ultra-light - trout, panfish, etc
