I guess I'm ignorant in that regard, so it wasn't expected. Can anyone give me another "for instance" of a similar warehouse issue? One where they have product on the shelf, but they can not get the product out the door because of warehouse restrictions (limited amount of order pickers within the warehouse) that delays orders a minimum of 3 weeks? Of the various places I order from, including other places in California, no, I can't name a place that has gotten as slow, or been as slow to recover, as TW. And I'm a big fan of them, just not impressed with their service at this time. Quote
BayouSlide Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I too have become increasingly frustrated with TW's order fulfillment. Pay $13 extra for second day and it ships within a day or so. Free shipping takes two weeks to fulfill, not including actual shipping time. Spent a lot of $$$$ with them over the years. Too many other good vendors vying for my business to put up with such delays. My last order, scheduled to ship at the end of the month, will be my final. Quote
Gorris317 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I started using Tackle Direct instead of TW. They are closer to me and have a pretty good selection. Quote
volzfan59 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I recently ordered from Tackle Warehouse. Everything was in stock and it took 3 1/2 weeks to get my order too. Very underwhelming. BPS/ Cabela's usually have my orders to me in a week. I'm going to check out Scheels, we don't have them where I live in the south. Quote

Sheels is a family-owned business despite their 'size'. Upper midwest - they're based out of Fargo, ND. Fleet Farm is also an upper midwest shop...and they have a good selection and great prices. Example: $20 for Seaguar InvizX up to 12# is their every-day price...not special...so 20% less than most everyone else 1 Quote

leinad Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 i'm calling b.s. on the california blame game. just a week ago i put in a big order with a rod included in the order and got that in 3 days while the rest of order will ship 6/28. put in an order today and will be delivered by 7/9; previous orders that i paid for shipping are here quickly ( you don't see a disclaimer in case of a high volume of orders that have the paid upgrade) so it is my opinion that if you pay for shipping they will get it out pronto and free shipping goes to back of the line , this seems to me this could be a way to get out of the free shipping feature which my guess is quite an expense fo tw. now in defense of tw they have the best selection of gear and i use them 95% of the time ; and am happy overall with their service. Super User WRB Posted June 19, 2021 Super User Posted June 19, 2021 Simple solution is to call and talk to them, surprising how human contact works. Tom 2 Quote

Rbunton87 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 another site and Omnia get most of my business these days. Quote
Can't Catch Bass Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I actually just placed an order with discount tackle in Oregon. I picked up a bunch of zman plastics, roboworms, a couple war eagle finesse spinners and vmc weedless neko hooks. Prices seem very competitive and free shipping if you're over $59 Quote

TW is down staff and they're handling the 'express orders' first...the more express orders that come in, the further back the regular orders get shifted. That 'estimated' date could change and get further out between now and then. I just gave up and did my orders from Scheels and FishUSA...they get their orders out VERY quickly. That’s crap. Don’t offer free shipping if you’re going to back seat it. All while still offering daily specials. Ordered 3 weeks ago and still haven’t received it. I’ll try other vendors going forward. 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted June 20, 2021 Super User Posted June 20, 2021 I ordered from Tackle Warehouse every couple months throughout the whole pandemic. All of my orders arrived with in two to four days with free shipping, even though I had to have orders sent to different addresses, in different states. I was surprised at how efficient they were considering all the difficulties of the times. Then I made an order this past April a month in advance of a trip to WA. When I checked a couple days before the trip the order wasn't going to get there on time, so I paid extra to have it shipped over night. The package came two days late, but did make it before I had to leave. I placed an order three weeks ago, and because it is being sent to Alaska, I had no choice but to pay for Priority mail. I called yesterday and it still hasn't been shipped. The people I have talked to on the phone were all friendly, and helpful, but the Covid excuse is rather week, considering they had no problems, during the peak of the crisis. I will continue to give them my business for awhile longer, because they have had exceptional service in the past. I do understand all businesses, like people go through bad times. I don't know what has happened, but they need to get it fixed soon, or I will have no choice but to buy tackle from someone else. 1 Quote
Wildbillb Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 Its all over. I ordered a choke cable for my mower june 1st. In stock and still hasn't shipped. Spoke to them Thursday not enough help for orders. Quote

In my case (only one time, mind you), it was actually the next day. If I recall correctly, ordered on Saturday, got the shipping info Sunday and it went out Monday. Surprised the heck out of me. Zippo Guy Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 About 2 months ago I ordered a rod and reel from TW. They said it would be 3 weeks before I would receive them. About a week later I got 2 emails from them. They were being shipped separately and both left SLO at the same time. Both arrived in Visalia at the same time. I live in Northern California and saw the reel go to Sacramento. I received it the next day. The rod went to Cottonwood, CA., about 2 hours north of me. After watching the rod not move in Cottowood for 3 days I called the shipper. They said it was lost and I needed to deal with TW. I called TW and they said they would need to investigate the situation. 3 days of not hearing from them prompted my next phone call. They didn't know what I was talking about and would have to investigate the situation. 2 days later I again called TW and they said I needed to talk with their claims department. After leaving a detailed message with their claims department I waited 2 more days before I called back to see what was going on. Their claims department didn't know anything about my situation, but they would look into it. The next day I called back and they said they would send me another rod and I would get it in about 3 weeks. I asked for a different shipper so they used UPS. I finally got my rod. Won't be using TW again. Rick 1 Quote
