Brutal_boost Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 I've been seeing a lot of fish sitting around 15 foot of water on my fish finder. Most of what I fish are muddy grassy areas. What's the best way to target these fish? I feel like a lot of things I read and watch would only work good with a muddy bottom. 1 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted June 16, 2021 Super User Posted June 16, 2021 You will get a lot of replies on this one... Tons of options, but I always have a jig, bubba-shot and swimbait tied on whe. I am going there Quote
Holetail Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Swim jig or chatter would be my first choices, but they are also my first choices in most situations… 1 Quote

Super User Choporoz Posted June 16, 2021 Super User Posted June 16, 2021 What is the surrounding structure? Is the grass there? Close? Any cover close by? Sounds like I'm making it complicated, I suppose...but, actually, if we know more, maybe it will be simpler. For example, I fish wildly different conditions in my area. On five consecutive days, I can fish in 15 FOW in entirely different ways. Today, I could be in a rocky reservoir with fish hanging near timber stuck on a ledge. Tomorrow, I might be on lake with grass line at 14' and bass sitting just outside. Friday, I could be in a river targeting smallies in deep pools. Saturday, I find them in deep channels of tidal Potomac. Sunday, on a newish reservoir, I mark fish in brushpiles at 15'.....or as Tom suggested, you might be marking carp....or catfish...or..... Super User scaleface Posted June 16, 2021 Super User Posted June 16, 2021 If there seems to be a lot of fish at 15 foot, try to locate a point and fish at that depth there. A Berkely Dredger 17.5 or 20.5 will dive to that depth . Bouncing a Red Eye Shad or Texas rigged worm on bottom can be productive . About any sinking lure would be a good choice . Quote
