As previous threads ive made imply, ive been itching for a new rod and reel. Considered BPS branded ones but went back with my ol trusty Lews Speed Spool LFS. The only reason i pulled the trigger is I found the exact rod I was looking for, for chatterbaits and spinner baits. With my other LFS I jave it paired with a 7' MH/F Lews Mach rod. I was cruising online and saw they make a 6'10 MH/MF Mach rod and my eyes lit up. That's the EXACT power and action I wanted!! I like the mach rods for the weight, feel, and Winn grips so I made the 7' my t rig setup and now have the 6'10 for chatters. I'm excited to try it out and see how the moderate fast feels compared to fast. I was originally looking at the lews TP1X chatterbait rod but didnt like that it was a M power so this is exactly what ive been wanting!

How many chatterbait rods have you used?  How do you know this one's your dream chatterbait rod?  :rofl_red:

Just giving you a hard time.  :smile11:  Be sure to post a review after you get a chance to use it for awhile.

I see everyones point. But its the exact length, power, and action I have been looking for a didnt know they made one in a rod I already have and like. So maybe I was just a little over excited when I made the thread haha

I’ve had a chatter bait tied onto my Dobyns Champion 734c since I got it last summer. I actually don’t think I’ve tied anything else onto it that I recall ?. Congrats on finding what you wanted.

I have the same rod and it’s amazing for chatterbaits and buzzbaits! That’s all I ever toss with it now.  LoL.  ??

That's how ive been with the previous rod i had for chatterbaits. Used a spinnerbait one day then toed a chatterbait back on and the only reason it somes off is to change colors of them.

One thing about it, it will be hard to convince yourself otherwise since you have already claimed it to be your dream rod for chatterbaits. LOL!!! :)

Whatever you do, don't shut the butt of the rod in a car door. My bladed jig rod is in the shop thanks to my truck door and a heavy dose of sleep deprivation. Trying to use anything other than the rod I'm use to is proving difficult.

Might just end up being your dream rod. In my eyes a MH mod fast rod is the best all around rod you can get. Very little you won't be able to throw with that rod.

Finally got out to test it and the tip definitely loads up more and sails a 3/8 jackhammer a good ways. But got a bite and I see why a slower action is beneficial because the bass jumped clear out of the water and I kept it pinned and it definitely had more of a parabolic bend that kept the fish pinned. I'm glad I got it and look forward to using it more.

I have been looking at the TP-1 Black rod with the same specs. May I ask what line you're using? No experience with a moderate fast, but kind of curious.

15lb Yo-Zuri hybrid. Thought about 12lb but that little bit of added insurance makes me feel better. Casted a 3/8oz chatterbait a country mile!

I use a BPS Bionic Blade M/H 6-9 fast with a Lew's Speed spool LFS for all my Chatterbait fishing, none of my other rods feel right after using this setup for so long.

Glad you found a setup you like OP.  I think you'll find that to be a versatile rig.

My 7' 6" MH Veritas Winch rods have been seeing LOTS of use this year. 8.3-1 reels spooled with 40# 832. Hands down the best chatterbait setup I've tried. Most fish have it choked, and with the braid, I get a good hookset at any distance. I've also found I really like it for pitching jigs and T rigs. Rod loads up clear into the butt section and keeps 'em pinned, and the mod action also helps prevent tearing their mouths on the hookset.

"Dream chatterbait rod" made me laugh...

Honestly, I expected to see a price tag of >$500 when I clicked the thread and maybe a comment "if I only had $500 to spare" when I clicked this thread. ?

I hope you struck gold with your dream chatter bait rod.   That's never happened to me.   Since I've seriously gotten into bass fishing ( early 80's ).  I've searched for the perfect spinner bait rod.   I'm probably several thousand dollars into the search over the years.  The very best I've done is rods that are "ok" - "will do the job" - better than average at setting the hook.   Never found one that is "the best".  Tell the truth - the Curado 150 DC that I got a couple of years ago has upped my spinner bait game better than any rod I've bought for that purpose for the past decade.   That reel has added 15 to 20 feet to my cast with the same amount of effort.
