RobA Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 I was thinking of getting a butt seat for the front of my Ranger RT178. Is there a standard size pedestal I should get? Quote

Bubba 460 Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 You need to take in weight consideration as well: Normal ~ Up to 200# Stout ~ up to 300# Heavy duty ~ over 400# 7 Quote

gunsinger Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Height is a consideration. Also, consider if you want powered or manual. I ended up going with the latter because i'm cheap but, I find i rarely adjust the height so it's worked out well. Quote

Is there a standard size pedestal I should get? I use this post Roba. I also have a Ranger RT178. You’ll need an actual seat and the seat mount as well. It’s manual adjustment but @gunsinger mentioned once you find the correct height there is no need to adjust it. I weigh about 205 pounds and I’m 6’2” for reference. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-threaded-pro-pedestal?rrec=true 1 Quote
tander Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 I have the adjustable one on my boat and love it. I like to put it all the way down to get some rest for my legs and sometimes I put it up to lean my butt on it, I will also turn it around and put it on my back, Now I am 70 years old so that might explain why I like the adjustable one, probably just a senior thing. ? 1 Quote

What seat is that? It seems like the one I have been searching. Looks like a much more quality one than some of the others. Thank you, Jeff . Quote
