Super User MickD Posted June 10, 2021 Super User Posted June 10, 2021 I see comments regularly about upgrading reels (both spin and baitcast) with carbontex drag washers, and I'm interested. However, going onto Ebay I find tons of offers, but I've yet to find one relating to specific models of reels, and I find no dimensions. How does one assure himself that he's going to get washers that fit? Thanks! Quote

How does one assure himself that he's going to get washers that fit? Thanks! Hey @Mick D, I’ve bought a lot of Carbontex, even “Smoothdrag” washers from eBay. Just gotta put in the make, model, model designation and Carbontex drag washers (Shimano Curado 201HG) and bingo-$8.19 w/free shipping. Or as @ike8120 suggested, contact Carbontex directly. In my opinion, they do make a difference especially on older reels… Quote
Michigander Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 Easiest way is to send a list of your reels to Smooth Drag <info@smoothdrag.com>. 2 Quote
CrankFate Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 Email smoothdrag. They also have top quality bearings, grease and oil. 2 Quote
Super User Solution Bankc Posted June 11, 2021 Super User Solution Posted June 11, 2021 What reel are you looking to upgrade? You can find drag washers for most common reels just by including the make and model of your reel in the search. For other reels, you may have to disassemble it and measure the existing drag washers with calipers. 1 Quote
