Nice one James, length would help us get in the ballpark, but i'd say 4.5#. Welcome to BR and keep catchenem! (i hope it was caught on a topwater)

Nice large mouth for upper NY. Your hand is covering/pushing the belly up but still a fairly wide fish... I'd say it's about four pounds, maybe a couple oz. That should put in in the ball park.

Yep, little crank bait in about 10inches of water. near a doc and some lilies. I'm not sure about the 4lbs (not trying to gloat LOL ) but it was over 20inches long and  just for comparison, I'm 6ft 220 sitting in a full legth scanoue thoughts? Here's a few other pics. (sorry for the shirtless it was 97 out). also sent to a taxidermist, looking to get it mounted. he judged the size of my fingers apparently and called it 23.

Looks like a 4.5-5lb fish to me. Pretty thick but not very long.

I would say that it's in the 4-5 lb range.

My immediate guess was 4.75lbs.

That's a nice bass.  I'd say it's at least a 4 pounder.

Update...

Taxidermist said judging by the width of my fingers across the belly we're looking at a 23in fish somewhere between 7 and 8 lbs. (he's also charging by the inch lol) but i've caught 4-5 pounders before and it didn't even compare. Unfortunately this picture doesn't do it justice. Love the feed back though!

That's what I'd say if I was charging by the inch too ?
