Super User ATA Posted June 8, 2021 Super User Posted June 8, 2021 Guys I was waiting for Antares DC 21 Lefty so long, Finally yesterday I got green light from two Japanese store(I was 3rd in line in Japan tackle). Make story short I accidentally bought two reels from two different store. Since I had plan to get another one later this year I didn't cancel any of my orders. So now I have only one rod(conquest. 842C) and I always were thinking to get a 903C as well but I want to know if someone have exprience with this. Please let me know about the rod, are you recommending it? To make your job easier ill list my conquest for you to make better decision. 842S 842C 844C 905C as you can see a 3 power is missing there, I really dont want to have another 843 in line, I was thinking if I get longer rod there would be more useful for me. I appreciate your time for reading and answering. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted June 8, 2021 Super User Posted June 8, 2021 Just a thought..... How about the new NRX+ 903C. Nice collection by the way. 1 Quote

Since I invest to have all conquest(which I study before do it), I would like to stay with conquest, Unless I need some rod that they are not in conquest line, So defenetly ill get NRX(Like NRX 961C). 1 Quote
kayaking_kev Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 You don't really want another 7 footer, and think a longer rod would be more useful, so it seems you want the 903c. I have the Conquest 843c and I love it and though I've never used the 903c, I know I would like the 843c better because I prefer 7 ft. rods. I'm not sure what the 903c weighs, but the 843c weighs 3.8 oz., but if you don't mind longer rods get the 903c. 1 Quote

Jared Supports 903C a lot, Thats what he said about it. https://youtu.be/ygo3iash67k Quote
Super User ATA Posted June 14, 2021 Author Super User Posted June 14, 2021 I was just watching Glenn Clip and I found out what will be one of the usage for my 903C, It will be bigger crankbaits. If I spool 15lb Tatsu or even maybe 12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xt6qU2Q1_BE&feature=youtu.be Quote
Super User ATA Posted July 10, 2021 Author Super User Posted July 10, 2021 (edited) Update, I was listening to some podcast and I found out one of the best use for Conquest 903 is to use as Carolina rig. Do you guys suggest 12lb Seaguar or 15lb? I really like to use 12lb because I can get the bulk and use it fir my other reels as well. Edited July 10, 2021 by ATA Typo Quote

Is this the rig you are talking about when you say California Rig? I have seen it but not used it. Saltwater fishing? There are different versions but it's something like a Carolina Rig. I don't think 12lb or 15lb is going to make a big difference. I would like at what cover you are throwing it into. If it's thick, go with the 15lb. If not 12lb would be fine but I think if it was me for a Carolina rig I would use 15lb. 1 Quote
Blacktail 8541 Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 I have both the 843 and 903 conquest rods. I like to use the 903 for moving baits and deep water presentations. It is my favorite for under spins as well as 3/8 oz chatter baits. 12 0r 15 lb flours work well. Braid is great if you like it. 1 Quote

Thanks for the info, Since I am using braid on almost all my combos, I started using TATSU on my last 21 DC and I really like it, So I decide to have two set ups all the way TATSU. I honestly had problem with the rest of Flouros including red label, Bot TATSU is whole different thing and different feels and cast like you cant imagine. so I am kinda hook to TATSU. I saw some like A-Jay using Abraz-X and I might give that a try in future as well. Quote
Super User WRB Posted July 10, 2021 Super User Posted July 10, 2021 I personally don’t like FC line for C-Rig /Slip Shot rigs because the line tends to drag on the bottom and gets snagged or damaged. No reason today to buy the original NRX, go with NRX+. Tom 2 Quote

Blacktail 8541 Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I use Tatsu in both 12 and 15 lbs. Have 1000 yd spools. I just use 40 lb Viscous no fade braid on the 903 at the moment. 1 Quote
Super User ATA Posted August 9, 2021 Author Super User Posted August 9, 2021 Finally Ordered Conquest 903C, Yup, I did it finally and order the 903C, I was fighting by myself to get 803 or 903 and finally 903 won, The reason that I did buy 903C was mostly Jared Lintner Anyways shipping that going to kill me, because I was stupid enough to save $11 for standard shipping< Going to update when I get it and pair it with Antares 21 DC with 12lb test Tatsu.
