Hmmmm, lots of opinions regarding jig type

And here we are with another opinion

Nah! I totally agree, even the Pros can't decide, Denny Brauer has designed at least 3 or 4 for Strike King & Gary Klein has a whole website of jig heads & components.

My suggestion: K.I.S.S. ?

Trashmaster Jig is pretty good all-purpose grass/wood and is really forgiving on the hookset vs a traditional jig, because it gets rigged like a texas rig.

Well I carry them all, but if I could only carry one jig with me, it would be an arky head jig. I usually use the Dirty Jigs Tour Level Pitching jigs (that @E-rude dude linked), but there are many options.

Finesse jigs are also good to get more bites for finicky fish or when the baitfish are smaller. You can get a "full size" finesse jig like this or a small profile lightweight finesse jig like this.

Unless there is something special or unusual about your fishing spots, a brush head should do just fine.  I have more of them than any other in my jig boxes.  Add a couple football and arkeys, and you pretty much covered your skirted jig needs.

The Dredge Brush jig has been my favorite for several years now.

When you guys say an “Arky” head jig, what do you mean? I’m familiar with Most jig styles, not sure about that one.

Order some of these from lurepartsonline, put on some skirts you like and you are set.
