Also take into account the humidity of where you're located.  I've seen some weird things happen to wooden crankbaits/swimbaits on various forums if left in high humidity for too long.

Just happened to me.  All my tackle was on picnic table in hot sun.  Jerks and cranks bent, split and popped open.  Surprised me, but I probably should have known better.

THAT is truth! Bows and storage in hot conditions are not good. Can delaminate limbs and stretch strings.
