Tucson Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Let's start a thread for things we've made for our boats. I'll start with a few items I have. Show 'em if you got 'em! Assuming I can figure out how to post multiple pics. OK, figured it out. 1st is a guide on I made for the trailer. Square steel tubing, a 2 x 4, and some entry runner carpet. 2nd is a lure holder made of 1/16" aluminum angle. 3rd is the milk crate I use to hold my Plano 360's. 4th is a rod support/holder stuck in an unused seat mount. 5th is a rod carrier I made out of some scrap lumber, masonite, thin rubber sheet and some varnish. simplejoe Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Here's a pic of the plexiglass put in the sides to keep the wind off me when it's cold out on them cold tourney mornings ;D I just cleaned them so it's hard to see. Since I own a Fish and ski I need more storage space so I took out the middle seat and put a storage box in it's place it also acts like a step to get on the back platform. More storage space up front and a step. The last one, I always step on my rods up front so here's a rod holder out of pvc piping. The boats a mess right now getting ready to put all new carpet in. Tucson Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 Ooooh - Diamond Plate. Gotta get some. Quote
simplejoe Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 The whole front step is made out of Diamond plating. I had it laying around and I was bored. ;D I even made the front door spring loaded so it shuts on it's own. I like the lure holder on your boat and that gave me an idea for the front platform. Quote
TrackerG Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I added a walk thru windshield to my single console Tracker Quote
Danonboat Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I made a tiller handle extension out of some tubing, old speaker stand and some various connectors including a quick release air compressor fitting. It works better in a fixed position.. Quote
Fishbone Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Tucson, I like the boat guide on. My trailer had low mounted guides that had to be submerged below the hull for the boat to be floated onto the trailer. It was a circus trying to retrive the boat. I bought and mounted a pair of verticle roller guides that helped a lot.....but...when the bow just touched either side, it would **** the boat sideways. I have a smaller set of guide rollers just forward of the rear set, but it's still not the best. What you did looks like the answer. How did you attach the steel supports to the trailer frame. I don't want to burn off my galvanize with welding. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted December 5, 2009 Super User Posted December 5, 2009 A tool caddy that snaps around a seat pedestal. A step for the trailer tongue. A light for the boat console. Quote

I don't want to burn off my galvanize with welding. The rear attachment was a piece of heavy angle, bolted to the trailer rail with a piece of square tubing welded to the angle iron. No welding of the trailer was necessary. On the front mount I welded a piece of square tubing onto a fairly heavy steel plate then bolted the plate onto the frame with square U-bolts. Attaching a couple of pics to clarify. Quote
