Just bought a pack of these yesterday at Wal-Mart. Anybody use these? How are they?

These have been my wacky hooks of choice for a year or two now. They're excellent, get almost 100% hookup ratio with them.

I just started wacky rigging this year with great success. These are the hooks I use and I cant complain one single bit.

For setup, I use a 7' M spinning with a 3000 size reel. 15lb braid to 12lb fluoro leader. Its a Diawa if youre that curious.

I may have to look into those. Was using Owner Wacky hooks yesterday and something(s) stole 4 of my GYCB Senkos and I didn't catch one.

I caught 12 fish on a single Ocho a couple weeks ago and never lost the bait, no bands or anything, just hooked right through the middle. That's not the norm, but they seem to hold the bait well along with having a great hookup ratio.

Maybe try my Ocho's - course only color I have is Green Pumpkin/Purple/Gold - don't know how well that'll do this time of year...we're mixed between mid and post spawn right now...there's still a number of bedding males.

They're always extremely difficult to find with an internet search for some reason. They're these, only a standard Eagle Claw instead of a Trokar hook. I much prefer the EC to the Trokar.

EC makes Trokar - there's a difference?

The cutting point on the Trokar versus the conical point on the EC. The cutting point slices the baits up fast and cuts bigger holes in the fish's mouth making it easier for them to toss the bait. It also seems to roll or lose it's point faster.

thankyou, whats funny is i bought the eagle claw 3 months ago and then i bought some with the metal wire weed guard maybe vmc? I snelled up some vmc because of the wire guard and left the eagle claw in the box because i was not sure how that flimsy fiber weed guard can stop weeds from gettin on the hook. Is it that good at preventing weed catch?

Well I'm gonna put these to the test tomorrow..my first foray into wacky senkos. All I've ever used until now is trick worms and havoc money makers.

I'm confused.  Are these the Chris Zaldain hooks?

So heres the deal..trokar is made by Eagle Claw and it is there premium line of hooks. The link that @Bluebasser86 left is the trokar version just to give you a reference as to what they look like since its hard to find the actual Zaldain Eagle claw version online. Believe they are exclusive to walmart so you would have to look in store. For more info those trokar are 6 for $6 but the eagle claw are 8 for I think 4$. They look like very good quality especially for half the price.

For what its worth they are the EC Lazer Sharp line of hooks. All the signature hooks they make fall under the Lazer Sharp line I believe.
