blanked Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 To me this is the ultimate rig for rocks. And bites Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted May 29, 2021 Global Moderator Posted May 29, 2021 Yes indeed. I fished hard all week and worm was my number one producer by a landslide then again it’s been that way as long as I can recall 2 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted May 29, 2021 Super User Posted May 29, 2021 I use Texas rigged worms every time I fish. I may start with something else but the worm always finds it way on to the hook. 4 Quote
Buzzbaiter Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 What type of worms are you talking about? If we’re talking about ribbon tails air straight tails, I use those a lot Quote
Michigander Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Are people not throwing T-Rig worms anymore? What?? 4 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted May 30, 2021 Super User Posted May 30, 2021 My #1 rig for almost 40yrs. I wouldn't even consider going bass fishing without some bullet weights, worm hooks, and plastic worms. 7 Quote
PourMyOwn Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Still lots of guys throwing Texas rigs, it just isn't an internet darling bait, so you don't hear about it as much. 2 Quote
SC53 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Pretty sure if you did a survey asking if you could only have one bait for bass fishing, specifically largemouth, it would be the Texas rigged worm. It’s never going away. 3 Quote
LCG Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Senkos and trick worms both texas rigged and/or Wacky are must haves for me. Never leave home without them. 2 Quote
crypt Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 it is what I use every time I fish...........it will be what I use when I make my last cast..........not any time soon though......... 1 Quote
Jaderose Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 I can't imagine a bass fisherman NOT using a Texas Rig 5 Quote
Capriceragtop Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Weightless Texas rigged worms are what landed me my first bass. Went from never catching a bass to catching 34 in a weekend. Only change I'm making from the 2/0 ewg and Zoom tricks is adding 4/0 and 5/0 with some 10-1/2" and 12" worms. I hear ya gotta have big bait to catch big bass, so imma give it a go. Quote
Super User king fisher Posted May 30, 2021 Super User Posted May 30, 2021 I try them every time I fish, but always catch my best fish on something else, but I will keep trying. 1 Quote
Harold Scoggins Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 I use the Oklahoma Rig, same as a Texas Rig only better. 1 6 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted May 30, 2021 Super User Posted May 30, 2021 I would give up my boat before I would give up the Texas Rig. 1 Quote
Capriceragtop Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 7 minutes ago, Tennessee Boy said: I would give up my boat before I would give up the Texas Rig. Hey, I hear you're giving up you boat... Quote
Dens228 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 I used it most of this morning.......with success. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted May 30, 2021 Super User Posted May 30, 2021 Yuuup all day....no need for tokyo mex etc etc rigs old reliable is reliable 99% of time if it dont work time for topwater or spinnerbait anyhow IMO Quote
papajoe222 Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 I only use the traditional Texas Rig with a sliding bullet weight. Otherwise it’s weightless or at the business end of a C-Rig. If I dont want the worm to move independently of the weight, I use some form of jig head. Quote
Bass Rutten Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 I used to but now I find the jika rig to be superior coming through cover and more realistic looking for worms in virtually every situation where I fish. Quote
