gunsinger Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Nice fish. Some of them slabs fight better than some bass I've caught. 3 Quote

Pound for pound, bluegills rank high as great fighters. If there were 8-10 lb bluegills, they’d be major trophies! 3 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 1, 2021 Super User Posted June 1, 2021 Nice looking bluegill! Just about the right size for dinner. 1 Quote

There's a lot of meanness packed into that little frisbee-shaped body. 2 Quote
CountryboyinDC Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Today I caught a crappie bigger than any bass I caught on a chatterbait. I didn't measure it, but that's a Zako trailer for reference. She almost ended up in some hot oil tonight, but I couldn't convince any others to bite. 6 Quote
CrankFate Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 8-10lbs? A 2 or 3 pound bluegill would be insane to catch. Quote

CrankFate Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 I caught them to about a pound an a half, at that size, they practically rip the rod out of my hand when they dive down. Like porgies in saltwater, but way stronger. I’m going to try for those big ones again later this month. They are few and far between. 15 hours ago, galyonj said: Absolutely. The angle makes it a little sketchy, but I'm gonna guess that's every bit a 15" fish. 1 Quote

Big crappy though, I don't come across many of them where I fish, and I totally wasn't expecting it. Small bass, though, that day? Quote

Good to know I'm at least as accurate as George Perry's fishing buddy. ? 1 Quote
