Im fully prepared for the swarm of "uni/palomar knot for the last 4000 years, hasn't failed me yet" or something like that.

Always appreciated it's backward-facing tag end, which helps with pond scum, and that it's doubled through the line tie.

I've heard people have issues with the knot slipping; my trick is once the knot is sinched down, pull the tag end to make every coil evenly tight.  6-7 wraps has always done me well.

I don’t use it a lot, but I do use it at times. For the reason you mention.

I use it all the time. Never fails. It is my goto knot bass fishing. We were pulling trees and bushes down with it yesterday on this freakish 25lb no name braid yesterday. I could not break the line. It was literally harder to break than 65lb braid.

I use it more than any other. Double Uni is fine, but I like how the trilene is a double wrapped knot on the lure and the tag end faces away when pulling it through muck and grass. I haven’t had the knot fail. It’s also easy to tie.

I use Palomar on hooks and swivels.

I use the Trilene for all lure/hook connections for every type of line.  Fast and easy to tie and it’s immediately obvious when it’s tied wrong.

It's my primary mono knot.  I use other knots for fluoro and braid.  But the Trilene is the one I trust for mono.  7 wraps for good luck!

I started using it this year and have had good luck so far.  Got tired of wasting so much line tying a palomar around a swim jig with the trailer already on.  The tag end not collecting junk is a nice feature when fishing through vegetation.

It’s my primary mono and fluoro knot as well. Making sure the tag comes out at the very base of the knot (pull on tag straight back), and the wraps around the lure/eye lay next to and don’t cross each other are key to a well tied trilene knot.

Always on mono and copoly. For fluoro I use the San Diego Jam. Does the Trilene Knot hold with fluoro??

has for me so far, just gotta make sure it doesn't burn the line, takes some practice.

Don’t see any difference with improved clinch knot vs Trilene knot regarding knot strength.

San Diego jam knot is easier for me to tie and stronger knot with wider range of line diameters and types mono/FC line.

*I believe the Trilene knot came into existence due to the coating on Trilene line caused slippage when using the Improved Clinch knot . The extra loop and tag going through the loop helps prevent that... I've had success with smaller size Trilene but have not tried on say larger diameter  #17 lb. or #20 lb. Trilene where perhaps other knots (San Diego Jam) may be better ?

I use it with mono, FC, & braid...100% of the time.

Last weekend fishing Smallies...30lb Power Pro braid with Alberto Knotted FC 10lb leader...and Trilene knot to my NED rig.

Got stuck in the rocks...I was literally pulling the boat towards the snag...had to wrap oar handle around the line...when it finally broke, the breaking point was the Alberto Knot.

Trilene knot held.

When fishing straight 30lb PP braid and a Trilene knot, if I ever get really snagged...I cut the line. Breaking that knot has never worked for me.

I feel like I'm less likely to burn the line or have the eye loops twist on me with this knot than with a Palomar.

Anyway, I use it for everything.

If I’m fishing mono, I always use the Trilene knot. If I’m using braid or floro then I’m using the Palomar knot. KISS for me.

I use to use the improved clinch until this happened with Siege , went to Trilene knot and no more slippage. I use it all the time as I fish copoly 90% of the time.

i used to use the Trilene knot, but i was getting problems with it slipping and breaking when using modern slick mono lines like Sufix Siege and Sufix elite. I couldn't figure out why Siege was breaking easily when everyone said how strong it was.

I switched to the palomar knot and now I can't break the stuff.

I've bent thin hooks on a #2 mepps with 6 pound Siege.

So the trilene may not work for you with slick lines. A possible fix might be to give it a few extra wraps???

I use it for everything and sometimes.... the improved trilene knot when I'm feeling fancy
