Super User geo g Posted May 28, 2021 Super User Posted May 28, 2021 Nice, I once caught a black peacock bass on my home waters in south Florida. It just shocked me but all other factors were pure peacock. Freaks of nature happen mother nature’s world. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 28, 2021 Super User Posted May 28, 2021 Cichlids and sunfish can't hybridize. It's a genetic pigment mutation called xanthism. Happens in all sorts of animals. 2 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted May 29, 2021 Super User Posted May 29, 2021 Nice golden largemouth bass. There are some places I fish that I catch bass with a golden metallic color. As for peacock bass I have caught several dark ones in some of the places I fish. In other places I have caught vibrantly colored peacock bass. It is amazing how much color variation these fish can have. Quote
