LakeWinni Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I have a 60 inch Ipilot Link with DI and would like to shorten it to 55 inches. Where are the wires inside the shaft? Has anyone done this and could you list out the steps/important considerations ie "in order to not cut wires do this" or "this is the part where you need to be careful" that would be helpful thanks all. Guitarfish Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I did that with a MinnKota. I just went to youtube and someone had posted a how-to. Good luck. Quote
Alex from GA Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 I haven't shortened but put on a longer shaft on a MinnKota motor controlled one. Disconnect all the wires in the head, cut the shaft, without cutting the wires, slip the shaft off the wires, drill another hole where you need it and put it back together. Shouldn't be very hard. Take pictures of the connections in the head before starting. Quote
