txchaser Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Is the Space Monkey different enough to matter vs the Lobster or the Craw? Yeah they are a little different, but I can't tell if they are different enough to matter. I'm trying to simplify some, but not too much. I did notice the Monkey claws wont flap with 1/8oz weight, but I don't recall if the others do either. Quote
lynxcat Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I recently bought some Lobsters and I’m trying to figure out how I want to use them. Rage Craws are so versatile and I use them mostly as jig and Chatterbait trailers. Lobster seems a big bulky for those applications. Quote
Super User BaitFinesse Posted May 25, 2021 Super User Posted May 25, 2021 The space monkey is super versatile and more durable than other rage baits from my experience. It makes for a suitable beaver bait, toad or jig trailer. I always like to have a pack on hand in the warm weather months. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 25, 2021 Super User Posted May 25, 2021 The Space Monkey is the better choice for a swimming presentation. 1 1 Quote
lynxcat Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 I used the Lobster on a swim jig today and caught four (missed a 5th that was a big one...it just didn’t get the lure). I cut down 1 1/2 sections of the body because it would otherwise have stuck too far out and led to short strikes. Gives some bulk for sure but I think it does pretty well in the application. I paired a Falcon Lake Craw with a California (green pumpkin with some red flake and some black) swim jig...for murkier water (rained a ton today), it creates a even more water displacement without being as aggressive as a Chatterbait. 1 Quote
Chonch12 Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 I like to use the Monkey in a completely different set up, I found most success using it on the "Rage Rig". I found that suggestion on this forum actually. Use a swimbait hook with the weight connected to the hook. It will allow the monkey to float/swim down on a good angle as it drops. 1 Quote
