my allergies have been real bad this year.  worse than ever in my life.  i tried to go fishing saturday morning. by the time i was out there for an hour i couldn't take it anymore, so i went home.  i've tried allergy meds, and they don't do anything. literally nothing.   the idea of cutting my grass in the yard...i dread it.  i can't pet my dogs because they run around in the yard, and they're covered with pollen too. i tried wiping them down but it doesn't seem to help.  is anyone else having allergy trouble this year?  what are you doing about it?

Very bad year for allergies. I take two different meds for blood pressure. The allergy meds that work negatively effect blood pressure. The ones that do not raise blood pressure do not work for me.

My son has terrible tree pollen allergies each spring. His doctor has him take both Claritin and Flonase.

I had a lingering cough since early spring. Nothing there to cough up. Just a dry wheeze. In the last month it finally went away. Pretty sure it was some kind of allergy, probably from pollen of some kind. I never took anything for it...

One of the worst years for me. My eyes start watering as soon as I go outside.  I've never had sinus headaches like I've had this spring.  I've been taking Claritin for the congestion, and Tylenol for the headaches.

Worst year ever for me as well.  I am taking Claritin (daily), Flonase (daily) and if the eyes get too bad then I use Pataday eyedrops.  I am going to the doc to get a steroid injection because it's so bad it's impacting my breathing.  I know from past experience that the steroid injection should help a lot.

On a separate note I don't know if this is the worst year ever just because of happenstance with whatever allergens are in the air, if it's because I had Covid, if it's because I'm unaccustomed to the allergens because I didn't go outside last spring, if it's because the vaccine kicked up my immune system, or if it's because I'm spending a lot of time outside.  Or, some combo of some of those things!

Never had allergies before this year.  Was coughing, sneezing, runny nose.  It sucked.

This. When OTC meds don't work this is pretty much the only solution.

A friend at work has really bad allergies. He gets an injection a couple times a year and says that makes all the difference for him. Mine haven't been bad this year.

I take an otc allergy pill daily and that helps but doesn't eliminate it. This year my allergies haven't been as bad as last year...not sure why...its not near as dry and dusty this year so far so maybe that's it. I recently had covid and experienced sinus infection symptoms...figured I just has an infection or an allergy flare up.

I’ve had severe allergies my whole life. I take AllerClear (generic Claritin) and Flonase. Adding the Flonase 2 years ago changed my life! That stuff is the bomb!

i will look for flonase. claritin hasn't done anything for me at all.  the only relief so far has been from store brand non drowsy benedryl.

Zyrtec is also good for people that can’t take Claritin. Zyrtec D has the Decongestant. I got allergy shots for years as a kid. Now I just take Zyrtec when I feel it coming on and I’m good.

Never had allergies until moving to TN

I was told to find a local source of honey and start adding it to my daily diet.

Allegedly, this will build a tolerance for your local pollen producing plants.

I'm giving it a try but in the meantime use Zyrtec

That’s an old wives tale.   I was having trouble with my allergies right after I graduated from college.  A friend told me to try the local honey.  I took her out twice and it didn’t make any difference. ?

That’s what they all say......

Seriously I think it’s pretty bad, I’ve known a few people that have some really bad attacks,  basically have to drop everything all at once and just suffer
