Ryan C Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Found this boat on Craigslist for 100 dollars. Does it look worth it? It’s 10 feet and would be used for two people. I already have a trolling motor and battery Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted May 24, 2021 Super User Posted May 24, 2021 Little people I hope. 325 lb capacity isn't much to work with. 1 Quote
Super User GaryH Posted May 24, 2021 Super User Posted May 24, 2021 $100 is hard to beat if it doesn’t leak. ? 2 Quote

Between two adults, TM and battery - you're already at the weight limit. Whoops, no capacity for tackle, cooler, etc. A 10' jon boat is pretty much a one-person rig... 1 Quote
Bubba 460 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 If it's in decent shape it's a steal. I bought a 9 footer for $150 and named it "Soap Dish". I sold it to a duck hunter for $300 to haul his decoys behind him while he wades out in the water and sets them. He said "Soap Dish" was perfect. I did clean it up a bit and added a new electric motor mount. 1 Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 I wouldn't bank on fishing with two people. They are really unstable at that size. If you both lean the same way at the same time, it's bath time. I had a 12' jon boat that I liked to drag to small ponds and such, but it was tough going with two people. 2 Quote
Super User gim Posted May 24, 2021 Super User Posted May 24, 2021 I have a 12 foot Jon boat that I use for duck hunting and floating a small river for brown bass. We do not use a motor and we usually fish with 2 people. We limit our gear as well and it works good. More weight would be unstable. When I go duck hunting and take my clumsy yellow lab with, I really have to be careful. I used to have a 10 footer and it was simply too small for 2 adults plus gear, even without a motor. Which is why I upgraded to a 12 footer. 100 bucks is a good deal but don’t plan on having 2 adults, motor, gear, etc otherwise you will be over weight. Quote
Bolar Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 There you go. Get the 10 footer, clean it up, and flip it for something bigger. 2 Quote

Yep i agree, that was the most unstable "boat" I've ever been on. On it, NEVER STAND UP EVER. It was a 10- 13 foot lowe, very narrow Quote
