Any owners of the older model, (2016 I believe),  of the Daiwa Zillion SV TW?

It's a solid reel at the current street price. No reason to pay retail at this moment. Once you've stepped up to a Daiwa with a free floating spool platform the Tatula variants, excluding the 300, feel more like the cost conscious reels that they are. As far as performance goes think of the '16 model as a better Tatula SV. It's not a giant leap in that regard, but it's better overall, and more likely to stay smooth over time.

It is definitely a more refined feel.  I have many Tatula SV reels and the Zillion is a step above for sure.  I am thinking of grabbing another one if I can find a deal, but the new Zillion, even though speedy, is getting rave reviews.

Great spool. Casts well for an SV reel. Palms ok. I have two 6 gears. Lots of spool options, though sadly many of them are now OoP or hard to find. I like them a lot, but "palms ok" in 2021 is kind of a killer when there are so many options that disappear in average size hands.

I have two.  I found one for 212.00 new and the second for 219.00 that was a display model.  At those prices they were no brainers.  Those and my Tatula Elites see the most use.
