PotatoLake Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I’ve owned one of these for a year, and decided with bass spawning/ guarding fry plus the bluegill spawn being a possibility I thought I’d let it rip and fish it for a few hours. Had the best 20 minutes of fishing for bass I’ve ever had. Caught a 6, 5, 5, and a 4, just all in this little window. And then just like that, poof, no more bites. I figured I must have ran into a wolf pack of big girls and cashed in all I could. Also, there’s nothing like a bass destroying these baits, they hit it like they meant business. What is beautiful about these is they slow float, so you can work them over submerged grass, I sort of worked them like a jerkbait. Fun stuff. 6 Quote
Michigander Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I haven't caught any on it yet, but I also always fail to throw it when conditions seem great for it. Seeing it in the water, I don't disbelieve that this is a good lure. Quote

Just like all swimbait fishing, you have to convince yourself it’s worth the possibility of getting no bites. I struggle with that a lot. More likely, next time I fish this I get skunked. 1 Quote
Jmurphy87 Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Haven’t thrown mine yet, although I did get some on top water today though. I like having little ponds nearby. The thing feels like bath water lol. Surprised me last night clearing algae of my spinner bait at 10pm, figured it would be cold nope. 1 Quote
Bubba 460 Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Great job. I have not thrown it a lot yet but did catch a big pickerel on the very first cast. Mostly been tossing' the bull shad or like imitations and doing well, at least last year. Have not been to my favorite "big bass lake" much this year because of muddy waters but it's ripe now. 1 Quote

The treble hooks are the main problem for me. Most of the places where bluegill profile shine around here have too much vegetation for this lure. I have good success with weedless presentations though! 1 Quote

I took mine to Minnesota last year to throw for pike, and stupidly never reached for it. Quote

Do not be afraid the run it along the wood. 1 Quote
