Fish app identified this as largemouth bass

I am new to bass fishing(1week new) caught this in my local creek in about 5 feet of water in Morgan hill(south of San Jose)today.  I was retrieving a curly tail worm without a hit, but as soon as I switched to this(chattetbait?) I caught this which was just over 1foot (measured against my foot).  A fish identification app said it was a largemouth, but I dont think it is one with my limited experience.   What is this?  Thanks everyone.

Any idea as to the why the color variation/patterns from the rest of the  bass I see on the web?  The creek is pretty muddy here year round so possible this is the reason.   Do muddy creek largemouths look that much different from lake large mouths(never caught a lake largemouth)?

You will find many variations in the same body of water, sometimes even in the same area.

Definitely a largemouth bass. Don’t let it’s coloration throw you off. They can be that pale green or they can be super dark green or somewhere in between. The mark of the lmb is their jaw line practically extending toward the gills or something like that. For example, a smb now won’t extend that far.
